****Please be considerate of fellow FReepers and their families who may be in the path of the storm****

Well said - and thank you for the thread.

Recently moved back to the low country and the Weather Channel is keeping my blood pressure high!!!!! Will probably leave on Wednesday.

In 1964 when Dora was headed to Tybee Island, I was stranded with my 2 week-old newborn (husband overseas) and the wonderful neighbor scooped us up and had us stay with her family further inland. She was my guardian angel.

Is this hurricane going to cross the Florida peninsula? How is it hooking left and then going to go due north? Doesn't seem to make sense. Can someone explain?

Dear Ms. NN,

I have no WiFi and a limited data plan on my cell phone.

The radio is limited in sharing useful information. I check this thread religiously for those 8,11,2 etc. updates.

I live in St. Augustine, FL. I am already planning to evacuate late tomorrow or early Tuesday.

My point: the information shared here is invaluable to me. Unlike most commentary, more is better.

Thank you all.

AgendaFree reports from Bahamas:

7 year old boy is first known casualty, his sister is missing.

[Likely, this will be repeated many times, due to the severity of this storm.]
