AOC reveals her student loan balance and makes payment during congressional hearing

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a payment towards her student loan debt during a committee meeting and called on Congress to take swift action on the issue.

“I literally made a student loan payment while I was sitting here at this chair, and I looked at my balance and it was $20,237.16 (£16,410.62),” the New York Democrat said at a meeting of the financial services committee focusing on student debt.

“I just made a payment that took me down to $19,000 (£15,412),” she added, “so I feel really accomplished right now.”

Ms Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest woman ever elected to serve in the US House of Representatives, is one of 68 members of Congress with outstanding student loan debt, according to a Roll Call report published in March. Her total debt is lower than that of the Congressional average, which reportedly stands at $37,000 (£30,013).

She actually wants to be patted on the back for making payments toward a debt she willingly accrued.

This socialist received a BA in 2011, majoring in international relations and economics. Obviously, she learned nothing if the best job she could get was as a bartender, and she is still in debt 8 years later. Pathetic.

How much does she make a year as a congressRAT? 175,000 or so, right? What are her other expenses? She should be able to p a y that off in no time.

Why did she go to an expensive private university (Boston University) instead of one of the public universities in New York {(SUNY or CUNY for example) and avoid a lot of that debt?

I literally had to write out checks and mail them to a bank because they wanted the money back on the mortgage I took out. Why couldn’t I get my house for free? It’s unfaaaaaair!

Will she pay back her co-workers the tip money she stole from them?

How about the IRS? I mean......she declared all of her tip income on her tax returns, right?

Ocasio-Cortez pockets the tip cup?

According to a food-server who worked with the former bartender at an East 16th Street taco and tequila bar, Flats Fix, on Cinco de Mayo 2017, the newly minted politician proved that when it came to divvying up the tips, collective ownership lost its appeal.....Wasn't it Ocasio-Cortez who said, "The definition of Democratic Socialism to me, again, is the fact that in a modern, moral, and wealthy society, no American should be too poor to live"? Is this the same woman who allegedly gave a waitress $50 for a night's work and kept $510 for herself? The server was so shocked by the small amount of money she received that a complaint was registered with the management, who wrested another 50 bucks from Alexandria's tightfisted Democrat-Socialist hands. The offended waitress told Richard Johnson of the New York Post's Page Six that after being treated that way by Ocasio-Cortez, "[f]rom that point on, I wouldn't talk to her. I couldn't look at her. It says so much about her character."

She just made a much larger payment than most people can make, and it was way over the standard/minimum for that balance. This one will definitely hurt her image, it does not reflect well against her trying to relate to people who are struggling, and just paying standard payments.

AOC be blingin’ so much she can flash giant payments in yo face!

I wonder how they'll vote when it comes time to wipe away all of those accounts. Hmmmm...

A-holeOC has a $19,000 student loan and she wants the Federal Government to pay off all student loans--

And she want to impeach The Donald because he has some hotels that US and foreign governments use?

Yep, you cannot make this stuff up--

I seem to shock people every day when I say education is not a right but a privilege. None can force a teacher to educate a child to his fullest abilities and none can force a student to learn either.

We are free to learn on our own and inform ourselves, yes, that is freedom of speech and assembly, but school is not a right.

I lay the blame on the Supreme Court being illiterate when reviewing the law voted in Congress.

The college should be reimbursing her, considering how stupid she is. How can a person have a major in Economics and know nothing about economics?

Don’t know. Certainly didn’t learn economics.
