Speaking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, Santorum said that while Trump is celebrating this week’s Republican victories in North Carolina, there was a more ominous long-term trend appearing in the polls.
Trump has low favorability ratings and is trailing most of his potential 2020 Democratic rivals, meaning he has quite a hill to climb if he hopes to win reelection next year.
“The president’s numbers are not good numbers,” Santorum said. “The races in 2018 were not good races for the president and he’s gotta be concerned.”
Santorum added that in the end, Trump’s own mouth could be what seals his fate.
“I love 90 percent of what the president does,” he said. “I like about 20 percent of what he says. If you look at what he says, he’s got to work on that in order to calm down the opposition.”

Has-beens like him need to be more constructive about what Trump needs to do to win: hit the issues hard; avoid personal attacks; organize a huge fight against voter fraud; and get into full campaign mode NOW.
I like Rick Santorum. He and Mike Huckabee were very fair to President Trump during the primaries. Add to that, Santorum speaks from a western PA perspective, which is a region that could go either way and was crucial for President Trump’s victory.
I guess I have to wonder what Santorum’s motivations were for going on Cooper’s show. Monetary? Thinks that he has an opinion that needs to be heard? ego? Want’s democrats to like him? What does he have to gain in going on stupid show where he knows they want Trump’s scalp?

We ignored the poll numbers in 18 too. Santorum is weak minded IMO, but Trump’s mouth does offend many people who have grown to like much he does. Many of those same people will not vote for him because of his mouth. We Trumpers will no matter his mouth. It is worth fine tuning his speech to gather in the prissy, wavering types of possible voters. 2020 is crucial.
Santorum did lose an election. That doesn’t change that he was very fair to President Trump during the primaries and that he’s a real conservative. It even makes him a more valid spokesman for indications that voters are being lost.
The President is not being arrogant. He's working hard for 2020 just as he did in 2016.
The Dems have no real condidate and are running solely on :Name Recognition". Endgame....Biden and Warren for VP. She's not stupid.
If Hillary had taken VP under Obama, she might have been his 3rd term. (I'm sure she was offered VP)

Before Monday: “These two N.C. races are a belle weather for Trump. He is going to lose according to the polls which doom his re-election chances.”
After: “Moving right along to the next reason Trump is doomed, we bring in Senator Santorum. What say you Senator?”
“Yes, based on the polls (produced by the same folks that brought you the one’s that showed the GOP losing big in those elections we are now ignoring), it looks like Trump is doomed.”

I doubt if “voters are being lost”. Those “light-in-the- loafers” types are snowflakes looking for any excuse to not vote for President Trump . They will be overwhelmed by those who love Free America.
Can't really dispute that but he would have been a much better choice in 2012 to run against Obama than that mega-loser Mitt.
