No it isn’t. My Mom stayed home to raise us, and my wife did too. None got welfare or a $8K credit to do that.
Explain what the difference is between “stay at home” moms and the welfare leeches that spit out a puppy every year and never work a day in their life?
Absent other context, this question reads to be demeaning to stay-at-home moms. If the substance of your concern is that the other poster's suggestion of giving stay-at-home families a tax break is functionally welfare, perhaps you should have mentioned the words "tax break" in your question.

I just don’t think other taxpayers should pay for anyone else’s choices to stay home.
We have a $2000 per child child tax credit. Most of it is refundable, so if you owe $1000 and have one kid, you get all your taxes AND $1000.
We also have child care tax credits. Already. $3000. Not enough to fully fund child care. But pretty generous given other people are paying for someone else’s kid.
We actually agree, and mine is also a stay-at-home family.

Yes that’s correct. Clear up the URI and the dementia clears up. I’m sorry to hear of your experience. You’re lucky. Real dementia however is irreversible. Once the brain begins to die there’s no coming back. My mother went fairly quickly from Alzheimers and it was heartbreaking. I’ll tell you this, if I’m ever diagnosed with it I’m not going to sit around in a nursing home waiting to die, if you follow my drift..

Birthrates are near zero. It’s in the national interest to encourage mothers. Without a crop of children, the nation follows a slow suicide.
France allows a couple with three children to pay ZERO taxes.
Hungary pays a couple 30,000 per child.
We have near zero birthrates.
Not only do we need mothers to have more children, we need mothers comfortably at home, dignified as mothers, and not hauled out to the workplace because the bills can’t be paid otherwise.

I give those immigrant parents credit. The ones I encountered didn't move to the US to cede control of their tots to the gov. The problems start when the conditioning changes what they accept.
