I’m not sure that I would put a whole lot of stock in affidavits by Shokin. This NYT article from 2016 (so it is uncontaminated by spin for the present imbroglio) lays out some of the problems with him.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/30/world/europe/political-stability-in-the-balance-as-ukraine-ousts-top-prosecutor.html

For what it is worth, I have been the victim of corruption in the Ukrainian government back in 2004 - 2007.

I’m sure it a very nice article but since it requires a membership the only thing I was able to read was the headline. The only problem is, it would have been written after Sheriff Joe ordered them to fire the guy so we don’t really know if that was after the fact justification for actions taken. It really doesn’t matter anyway because we have no business interfearing with the internals of another country.

That’s my thought. We know Biden’s on record for threatening to withhold aid if Shokin was not fired. That does NOT make Shokin innocent, and although his guilt or innocence has nothing to do with POTUS, you can be sure if Shokin is lying about his innocence, it will be used against POTUS.
