Is Trump Protecting Europe From Turkey?, 2799
The Still Report. ^ | Oct 17, 2019 | Bill Still

Posted on 10/17/2019 3:18:14 PM PDT by Widget Jr

Summary:
Erdogan's "invasion" of Syria is not what the media is reporting. Turkey has 3.6 million refugees from the Syrian Civil War, and has prevented them from flooding Europe, causing severe economic hardship. This is the largest number of refugees held by any nation. If Erdogan can be believed, and he has been talking about this for a few years, this "invasion" is about creating 20 x 300 mile zone to create a zone to repatriate Syrian refugees. The Kurds are largely unaffected by Turkey's move.

Turkey cannot hold millions of refugees forever. They can send them to Syria or Europe. If they goto Europe, in Still's oppinion the massive influx would collapse European economies.

“The Kurds are largely unaffected”...The town of Kobani alone has about 40,000 Kurds. The road leading south has been cut by pro Turkish Arab fighters. With total air dominance, the Turks are bombing convoys trying to flee. 150,000 have fled the area around Sani Kari. Western humanitarian relief teams on the ground nearby report civilian casualties in the Sani Kari area: killed -218 (18 children), wounded - 653 (35 children). These figures are just for one town. In addition, 4 ambulances carrying wounded have been hit by air strikes, making evacuation of wounded very dangerous.

Size the maps the same. Top one is zoomed in where the distance from top to bottom is about 45 miles. Bottom one the distance is in excess of 700 miles. Incredibly misleading and meaningless. You are comparing wheat kernels to Telephones. Completely meaningless and purposely holding up a baby and screaming someone killed my baby as it takes a s it cries and takes a dump down your arm is par for your sides game.

An honest man would note the population density, or lack thereof along much of the Turkish Syrian border. You have a handful of towns in the zone. Aziz, Jarabulus, Al-Rai, Kobane but the rest are dirt/sand farmers. Those people on both the land and towns don’t have to leave. Just the PKK / PKK+ Rebranded SDF.

Go clean your arm. You reek of baby poop.

I used what maps I could find to illustrate the general situation, not to present things perfectly.

He needs a big beautiful wall. Oh wait... Wall here good, wall there bad. Closed borders here good, Closed borders there bad.

I’m having a hell of a time trying to keep up with all the hypocritical flip flopping on principles.

How many times have I read that if we can’t have a wall then we need a “buffer zone” on the Mexico side. I think this is what Turkey is doing. Until he goes overboard, I don’t think he is doing anything different than we would do in the same position there if it was our country with recognized borders.

Erdogan helped both the “Syrian Opposition” and ISIS in Syria, which destabilized Syria and led to all the refugees.

Those refugees are as much Erdogan’s as anyone’s. He has no right to complain about them.
