Am I the only one here who doesn’t care whether a school ends its “gifted & talented” program?

No. I don't either.

Here's the thing, folks: Public education by its definition is a mission aimed at mediocrity. This idea that you will have taxpayers fund a "school system" that is intended to serve the public at large in conjunction with compulsory education laws has no place in a free nation.

I'm actually surprised these "gifted & talented" programs have lasted as long as they have.

Gifted & Talented is just normal. It is motivated, free children learning.

General public school is malnormal. It is abusive teachers dumbing down children.

Excellence is targeted for destruction.

Teachers hurt children.

Then they blame the parents. It is vicious teachers walking that picket line and pushing coerced bond measures, to rip off the kids.

Teachers are screwing the kids, and they know it, and do not care.

That is the tough reality. Quit holding them on a pedestal.

Look at all the people here complaining that a public school might cut a program. What happened to this forum? LOL.

I didn’t send my children to public school, but I understand why other parents do. They’re paying taxes for it, so why not? Right?

However, even if I had sent my kids to public school, I still would’ve wanted spending cuts. Same with music and sports programs - all those things should be privatized. Public school should be a low-cost safety net.
