Doug Collins Has Spoken to 'Many' Dems Who Are Concerned About Impeachment Process

The Democrats unveiled their articles of impeachment against President Trump on Tuesday. Their two charges: abuse of power, accusing Trump of trying to solicit help from Ukraine to help his 2020 re-election efforts, and obstruction of Congress after refusing to cooperate with their investigation.

Trump's abuse of his power, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, "left them no choice." If they didn't act, they would be "complicit" in his presidential overreach.

"Unlike President Trump," Schiff said, "we understand that our duty is first and foremost to defend the Constitution."

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer asked House Judiciary Committee ranking member Doug Collins (R-GA) for his immediate response, noting that despite their efforts, it doesn't look like Republicans can stop the Democratic-led impeachment.

"We've never thought we could stop this train Bill," Collins agreed. "They've been on this train since November 2016. They just had to find the motive, the means, and the opportunity."

Imagine the egg on Pelosi’s face if she can barely get enough Dem votes. It will make a mockery out of a circus.

If The Dems felt they had a case they would have put in quid pro quo and bribery as one of the articles..they did NOT..this is one of the weakest, poorest excuses of a so-called impeachment Ive ever seen..let’s see, abuse of power, that can be interpreted as well Donald Trump breathes, thats an abuse of power, or him signing executive orders, thats an abuse of power..or getting a prosecutor fired for investigating his son..oh wait my bad, Biden did that..NOT an abuse of power, that’s fine he has a D next to his name, phew!

Any sane person full comprehends that what they can do to the president unfairly and unjustly, they will do to you in the very near future. Friend or foe does not matter.

Right. Even if true when push comes to shove they got their marching orders. Unless they plan to change parties no way they don’t follow the commie line UNLESS they are in a pro trump swing district.

63 million of us, and growing every day, will crawl over broken glass to vote for him in 2020. MAGA! KAG! :)

There were probably also some German soldiers “concerned” about the final solution.

There were probably many more who thought it was an "error", a "mistake", and "failure to follow proper procedure".

“. . . . obstruction of Congress after refusing to cooperate with their investigation.”

What’s that all about? Is there some law that requires that the Executive Branch (the President) cooperate with the Congressional Branch (the House)? What is the check and balance system all about if not three equal branches of the government with each the ability to check the others, and no center of sovereignty (i.e., no branch has final power)anywhere? How about Andrew Jackson on the Supreme Court: “John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it.”

They did cooperate, just not to the exponential degree these people were demanding, basically placing the presidency into a grossly subservient not co-equal branch of government.
