It sounds like they are heading all the way back to the seventies.

I expect Times Square will be full of pornography stores again. And the hookers and dope dealers will be back to accosting cars just driving through.

Dinkins in particular drove so much wealth out of the city, but there were still enough normals to elect Giuliani. Even Bloomberg, as much as he bows at the leftist altar today, was a no-nonsense mayor who knew the trains had to run on time - albeit with smaller soda cups and such.

De Blasio and Dinkins weren’t reluctant to bite the hand that feeds, and they are paying a price.
