It’s better for Trump to go through the farce of a trial and have them vote to acquit.
Ted Cruz brought up that point this morning on Fox News.
This is better than a dismissal. He indicated acquittal shows the claims were baseless and is better for Trump long run.

Wasn’t Clinton acquitted in his impeachment trial? The charges were certainly not baseless in the case of Clinton. In fact I was shocked when Ken Starr chose to bring so few charges from the many possible ones.
I am pretty sure he sang a different tune last week. Change is telling.
