NBC Opinion: Trump's purging everyone he thinks is disloyal. He was never going to learn from impeachment.
NBC "News" ^ | February 8, 2020 | by Robert Schlesinger

It didn’t take long to find out what an unleashed Donald Trump looks like — and I’m not referring to his petulant, un-Christian comments at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning or even his toxic, stream-of-subconsciousness victory lap in the East Room of the White House early that afternoon, during which the leader of the free world introduced “top scum” and “bullshit” to the public presidential lexicon.

Sure, both performances offered disturbing glimpses into Trump’s very scary emotional state, as if his Twitter feed weren’t enough. But even as he debuted the latest iteration of his angry-victim performance art, he and his allies also started settling scores in a startlingly open way.

And it may be a long while before we know the true depths of his political depravities because on the same day that Trump was acquitted, Attorney General Barr issued new guidance that he must personally approve any politically-sensitive investigations. Barr, who has dispensed with his office’s traditional independence from the president, has been a vocal critic of Mueller’s investigation, even though it produced dozens of indictments, seven guilty pleas (many from top Trump aides) and five prison sentences. And now he has insulated Trump from any fears of being held accountable in the run-up to the November elections.

Though a number of Senate Republicans have suggested that Trump had learned a lesson from his impeachment, early indications are that he intends to teach a number of people some very hard lessons — including about believing people when they show you who they are — instead.

To say that “he hasn’t learned his lesson” indicates that the process itself was supposed to be a process that was aimed at behavior modification, as opposed to being a way for the country to protect itself by expelling a criminal from office.

I think the Cali democrats are dangerously out of spec. They no longer are concerned with governing and are instead fully concerned with pushing the carrying capacity of their land beyond all good sense. They need to be dispersed because no good can come of letting them pursue their schemes any further.

Hubris will let a person believe that the laws of nature are for other people, but not for them. Hubris propels attempts to use impeachment as punishment for behavior modification instead of as a sort of national white blood cell to protect it from harm. Hubris is the disease. How do we protect the nation from that, because clearly it is well past time that issue was addressed.

“He learned that the swamp includes a large number of Republicans and military.”

Sure does... And their bipartisan interests transcend all party lines.

Kinda laughable. Last years news STILL, a organization has its own problems: Upset over layoffs and Ronan Farrow’s book, NBC News Digital employees are unionizing

Wrong. He dismissed the individuals who acted unethically if not illegally.

But he really didn’t need a reason...

Learn from impeachment?

Learn what? He learned who some of his enemies are and fired than.

Learn?

Trump is a Wharton graduate. These people conflate AOCs fake Econ degree (she does not have an economics degree) with which she tended bar, with Trumps Wharton degree with which he continued working in his then two-generation family business.

No one graduates form Wharton School of Finance with an Obama/Kennedy/Cuomo like Harvard/Columbia/Yale degree.

The Dems don’t learn. These fake journalists don’t learn. Do they go to a trump rally and witness?

Trump went to the pro life march in DC last month. He learned there - that it is a HUGE mid winter yearly march that the press completely conceals.

Dems will not take tge impeachment defeat well

Are they going to steal the senate? Why would they not try?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't know what is worse:

Leftist tools thinking that a sham, contrived, anti-Constitutional, partisan impeachment by their fellow leftists was going to "Teach" someone like President Trump "Something"...

Or...

That a President purging people who he thinks are disloyal (demonstrably so in this case) is somehow a bad thing.

he leader of the free world introduced “top scum” and “bullshit” to the public presidential lexicon.

Where was this guy when Bill Clinton had children discussing blow jobs? Does he celebrate people parading up NYC streets with feathers up their asses? How does he feel about people using the sidewalks of San Francisco as latrines? Or about Heather has Two Mommies? Etc!

The left are the ones who have debased and continue to debase our culture. How dare he!

He looks like every other liberal male. They all look pretty much alike. As for me, I’m so delighted to finally have a conservative President who fights back, I cannot express it. Go President Trump! Cry Havoc, and unleash the dogs of war!!

She could hide out at my place at the beach. I make a lot of great pasta dishes. Maybe we can swap recipes.

William Magear “Boss” Tweed was once asked by a reporter if he used his organization to reward his friends.

“What am I supposed to do, reward my enemies?” was his famous reply.

Politics ain’t beanbag, as our friends across the aisle are hopefully about to find out.
