Months after Disneyland opened the biggest expansion in its history, the Anaheim theme park raised ticket prices Tuesday, pushing the cost of some one-day passes above $200 for the first time. Prices of annual passes and the digital MaxPass climbed too.
Under a new five-tier pricing scheme that charges more for days when demand is highest, one-day ticket prices rose as much as 5%. For the lowest-demand days such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March a one-day ticket to visit either Disneyland or Disneys neighboring California Adventure Park stayed unchanged at $104. For peak days, such as most Saturdays and Sundays, the price of such a ticket rose to $154 from $149. There are also three middle-priced tiers.

What a waste...
Agreed. Take your kids snorkeling or to the range.
Don’t see what the point is anymore. You pay through the nose not only to sweat in line in the hot sun half the day but now your money goes straight to tranny/ballbreaker propaganda headed right back at your children. No thanks. I can find far better entertainment in the comfort of my own home.
I really miss the simpler days when Disney was an amoral (apolitical) corporation just hungry for money.
Thats one reason why I decided to move from SoCal back home to Texas. They discontinued the Premium Pass that included parking, and the closest equivalent was over $1000 a year.
This is a free-market solution to overcrowding. Too many people in the park make a bad experience.
Visit quality will go up, and visitors can select days that are within their budget.
I’m glad I visited when I was a kid in the 1980’s. They still had the non-PC Pirates of the Caribbean then.
You are correct, especially since the new Rise of the Resistance opened up, far too many people all trying to get a boarding pass which is usually gone in 90 seconds through the Disney phone app.
I will be at Disneyworld next week, my main goal is to compete with about 15,000 other guests to get on that ride.
And btw, my last visit was 18 years ago.
Wait until the Star Wars hotel opens up, rumor is its $1,000 a night.
I moved to Alabama from Socal in ‘14. I have zero reason to go back to Socal. I will go back to Yosemite and Northern Cal at the coast only to keep driving north thru oregon and into Wa but thats it.
Disney World in Florida is 10 million times better to visit, and is also amazingly overpriced ever for snacks. But a decent 4 day trip there is a treat to behold. Disneyland is just rubbish compared
Good for Disney. Charge whatever the market will bear. Capitalism at it’s best. Isn’t that what we preach around here?

You moved states because Disneyland passes got too expensive? Wouldn’t have just been easier not to go to Disney?
Take a family of 6 for a peak day and it will cost you a bare-minimum for $1200-$1500 for the day.
If you are lucky you will get onto 6-8 of the good rides during an 8-10 hour day.
Each ride is about 5 minutes, so basically you are paying about $200 for each 5 minute ride.
Disney used to be enjoyable with small kids, when you didn’t have to pay thru the node for everything and wait 2 or more hours for a single ride at times.
I don’t mind paying up for things when they are worth it, but paying that kind of money and being herded around like cattle is a no-go for me.
Used to book the AAA packages for the Grand Californian with unlimited FastPass tickets for those who stayed in one of the resorts. About the time they eliminated that perk was when we stopped going, almost 15 years ago.
We're in Texas now, and once in a while I think about my wife and I going back ourselves one last time while we're in our 60's. But between the massive spikes in ticket prices and just Disney in general, I suspect this will not happen.
That was at least 40 years ago, because this first appeared in 1983 and exists for a reason:

If you can’t make out the lyrics:
***
Mickey’s on the production line
I’m a super mouse in time
Everybody’s doing the goose step out in Anaheim
Mastermouse gonna feel no fear
Mickey’s gonna lead us to the new frontier
Everybody wants to be the perfect Mouseketeer
And there’s Stukas over Disneyland
Stukas over Disneyland
Stukas over Disneyland
Stukas over Disneyland
Jiminy Cricket wrote a victory speech
With Knotts Berry Farm right in reach
Our lebensraum has been extended to Huntington Beach
Turn on the gas and you’re gonna see
How to achieve racial harmony
We need a perfect order, it’s our genetic destiny
Got an SS ticket, I’m feeling fine
I spent five long hours just standing in line
Passed inspection, got my ears on straight
Gonna fire up my engines ‘fore it gets too late
I just can’t wait!

Disney has been political for a lot longer than a lot of people here think - anyone who lived near Disneyland can tell you that.
Back in the day, my employer had a ‘Magic Kingdom Club’ card. It made the trip to Disney much less expensive and enjoyable. I could not afford it now.
Wife just got back from Disney Anaheim last week. She and her brothers and sisters grew up near there and it was a really big thing for them. They used to go there all the time. I grew up in the Midwest and when I was a kid there was nothing I wanted more than to go to Disneyland. Now I wouldn’t go if it was free. What a rip. And a bore to boot.
My wife paid for everything, four days, four nights in a Disney hotel, day passes (if that’s what they call them), hotel, food, and incidentals that never quit coming... her, her brother and his youngest son, and you WOULDN’T BELIEVE how much it cost us, probably up around $7,000! And they’re telling me next time I’ve GOT to go!?? No, next time you’ve GOT to stay, dear.
Can’t wait to tell her they’re raising their prices again.
So much of everything today seems like a ripoff. Just say no.
I pay premiums to get away from riffraff, not be surrounded by it.
I can go to Walmart and be with the same people for free.
