Brian France ruined NASCAR. The grandstands are empty at many smaller, formally popular, venues.
It went from a rough-and-tumble sport of ex-moonshiners, to drivers who are Madison Avenue clones.
I’m one of many, many ex-NASCAR fans who have lost complete interest.

For the first time in 19 years I’m going to put my INTIMIDATOR shirt on and watch the 500. Dale Earnhardt and President Trump are my 2 favorite non husband men. What a GREAT way to remember and celebrate this day!

Nice! I love auto racing, but at Daytona, it’s all about drafting, blocking, and trying to escape getting caught up in “the big one”. The last couple laps are where it’s all decided.

My memories of Daytona race week, 1969. Four of us doing well at Al Somers Umpire School across the street asked if we wanted to be ushers. Of course we all said yes. Main job not helping find seats, easy for people to do. But keeping people off the fence to the track and from putting their fingers thru the wire. One loose thing from a tire or the car would severe fingers in a quick half-second.
Unbelievably hot women in Hot Pants (the vogue at the time). Got to smell Miss 500 and Miss Daytona sashay by in shorts and heels while thousands whistled and yelled what they wanted to do to them after the race. Get in line!
I think it was the 24 hours at Daytona on Friday when a driver hit the wall and his door and side panels severed off from the car. He spun around twice and was exposed to oncoming cars. One had no choice, sandwiched in between two other cars, hit the stopped full speed right into the driver. The exposed driver was killed. Under the grandstands during a rain delay some people excited to see a driver killed.
IIRC the county was dry and people had to go to the next county on sunday to buy beer. We didn’t;t roust people who drank and I assumed some were carrying. Ushers not armed.
Epilogue: I got a contract and worked the Florida State and Midwest Leagues 1969 Had a wife and kid and couldn’t afford to go back a second year on 500 a month and no health insurance. Players in A ball making about 1,000-1500.

How to arrive: heading 330 deg from a nearby 500 acre-facility leads right to the place, which = Trump [טראמפ]. Right to that track.
In case you are interested, here is how to get to the speedway from "The Hub", the ancient sun symbol [☉] which represents the "center of the solar system" where all the action is centered [בית המדינה], as per the source of that usage at that link:
1737 = [360 x 4] + 297, counting CCW through the quadrants I --> II --> III ---> IV, simple trigonometry: four revolutions plus another 297 degrees starting from the east again, where "x" is whatever (e.g. 9) and y is zero. Of course it's the west (-x) side which is numbered 9 runway-wise, because that's the heading for the destination due east. 9/27.
297 deg CCW lands in quadrant IV. Runway designations are rounded to the nearest 10 degrees and start at N, so the same location would be runway 15/33, where is the bearing marked for 330 "Trump" degrees.
