The fatality rate is something like 80,000 cases in the world that are known. There have been 2,700 deaths. You know what that translates to, a fatality percentage — it’s like 2 to 3 percent, folks. The fatality rate of this virus is less than the flu, far less than the flu.

What is the fatality rate of the flu? The sources I have seen say it less than 1% worldwide. In the US it's much lower than that.

Fatality rate of the flu in America is about .8%.

Fatality rates seem difficult to ascertain since many people never see doctors and just recover. This is happening with this virus also according to the medical people.

Yeah, I think Rush is wrong on the flu fatality rate. It’s much lower than 1%.

CDC estimates through February 15th:

Number of flu cases, 29,000,000-41,000,000

Number of deaths, 16,000-41,000

So, about one in a thousand who get the flu die from it. One-tenth of 1 percent. Rush’s numbers are totally wrong.
