You cannot parachute into any business, political or otherwise, simply open the financial spigots and expect anything other than waste and fraud. You can’t tell me in the short 6 to 8 weeks of his campaign that they build a solid oversight program. No, Mike just opened his bank account and invited everyone to grab some on the thin hope that they would rob him blind. They did.

And this is exactly how Democrats run the government using other people’s money.

From the article: I know of at least one team of ‘volunteers’ that was entirely fabricated by the organizers who had to hit their goals,” one staffer said, according to Klippenstein’s report. The person added: “It was easy enough to fudge the data to make it look like real people put in real volunteer work, when in reality Mike was getting nothing out of it.”

One reason why centralized planning always fails is because centralized data collection is easy to game. The USSR starved millions of farmers because the crop yields were reported to the central planners as much higher than they were to meet centrally planned goals. Moscow took the numbers at face value and collected their share, which turned out to leave nothing for the farmers.

Big lumbering businesses have forgotten the failures of the USSR and are still drawn to big bureaucracy, centralized data collection, and planning. It's a curse.
