Italians aren't owed a national holiday. Nobody else gets one. Columbus day wasn't meant to be 'Italian Day'. It was meant to celebrate the discovery of America, and ultimately the establishment of what would eventually lead to the USA. If they kill Columbus day I'm not interested in converting it into a national holiday celebrating immigrants just because the woman, who almost nobody has heard of, is Italian.

For the record, I support keeping Columbus day and have no issues with Italians taking it as an opportunity to express national pride. I'm not a fan of "Mother Cabrini Day"

We have so many days and “months” that they pretty much mean nothing. America is watered down and we will never make everyone happy.
