There’s a Youtube channel of a guy who sells firearms. In one of 3 of his videos, he explicitly states not to buy Glocks from him. He’ll sell them if you really-—really want them though..

SMART FELLOW, imVho. = I personally SAW the results of a Glock “coming apart” on MY range & SEVERELY WOUNDING the shooter. = The USPS Inspector came all too near to losing his eye, as part of that unintentional discharge.
(I was at that time an Army Rangemaster & had been asked by several USPS agents if they could fire for qualification on our range.- I told their supervising officer, “YES”. = Less than 15 minutes after the agents started firing, the bloody .incident occurred.)

More than a year later, I was told that the wounded agent had had 5 reconstructive operations on his face & that while his vision was impaired, that he had not lost his eye. - I suspect that the QUICK & COMPETENT aid by an Army Paramedic, who was present on the range, saved his eye.
Further, I was told that he was “pending” further operations on his face.

And anyone wonders why I want nothing to do with owning/shooting a Glock??

GET TRAINING!
Take a basic gun safety course, learn the proper handling and use of a gun. Make sure it includes range time.
Replace your fear with healthy respect.

"I personally SAW ..."

I seem to recall that some of the early kabooms were related to case thinning due to reloading the same case multiple times. Were reloads in use during that incident?

"... that unintentional discharge. "

Are you saying that the trigger was not being pulled when the incident occurred? I'm puzzled by your description.

States have been shutting down outdoor gun ranges.

Published: 3/26/2020 The Board of Directors held an online meeting on 3/26/2020, discussed the complete closure of the club property, and came to the conclusion that it is in the best interest of the club, the membership, and the community at large, to close the Sportsmen's Club of Clifton Park to all members, visitors, and vendors. Effective at 9pm on Friday 3/27/2020 the main gate will be disabled and access to all buildings will be blocked. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult and trying time for everyone. We understand that many of you may be disappointed with this decision, but we want to assure you that we will evaluate the situation on a daily basis and consider re-opening our club as soon as possible. Questions and concerns should be directed to President@scocp.org Anyone found on the property will be considered in violation of this temporary policy. Violators will have their membership suspended immediately and may have their membership permanently revoked. Board of Directors 3/26/2020

Circumstances shape people’s understanding of the world, and my situation highly influenced my views on gun ownership. There was no argument, be it constitutional, personal protection, safety, hunting, or anything else that would change my mind and stop me from logically deconstructing your argument.

She’s full of herself.

Her opinion that she could logically deconstruct a pro gun position is her inflated opinion of herself only.

NOPE. - The USPS agent was using his ISSUE 115 grain factory ammo.

Ilya from Michigan writes . . .

Ilya from Michigan is a dumb ass.

But maybe, just maybe, he's beginning to smarten up a little.

Not a sure bet, though.

He's probably still a dumb ass democrat...so, there ya go.

SORRY. I do NOT know that answer. - The OFFICIAL Incident Report of the USPS “incident investigation” called it an “unintentional discharge”.

I found it “interesting” that the Glock representative, CLAIMED that the incident was caused by the HOLSTER, which I found “more than a bit curious” inasmuch as the pistol was NOT holstered at the time.

The old “DO NOT USE KYDEX HOLSTERS WITH GLOCK PISTOLS!” deal huh? Frictional discharge? :-)

That I know ZILCH about but once more the official Glock factory’s response to their pistols discharging in the DC METRO PD holsters, while the officers were simply entering/exiting their patrol car, seemed “more than a bit curious” to me.

IMO, the “official factory response” was an attempt to “shift responsibility to others” OR to avoid accepting liability for the injuries to the LEOs, that were caused by “unintended discharges”.

I live a pretty privileged existence. My family lives in one of the most affluent communities in Michigan. Everyone in the neighborhood leaves their doors open with bikes on the front lawn. Rarely do we worry about anything being stolen, let alone violent crime. I wasn’t born with this privilege, but worked really hard to get where I am.

His mindset is still in the wrong place. You don't live a privileged existence, you are enjoying the fruits of your labor...big difference. I live a pretty affluent lifestyle. But it's not a life of privilege. Both my parents were immigrants. I'm a first generation American who speaks English as a second language. I too worked hard all my life to get to where I am now. So no, I don't live a privileged life, I too am simply enjoying the fruits of my labor. Reframe your mindset and accept that you got to your current lifestyle because of hard work, not privilege.

I would not recommend a Glock to a first time firearm owner. Either a revolver or a DAO semiauto.
