She made the point of so being opposed to guns and so many gun deaths, but yet she bought one. I was trying to be helpful. She is one of those people who cause some gun accidents by not being familiar with the weapon nor range training.
It's obvious by her statement that she is "scared to have a gun in the house" that she needs some familiarization/training. Why the gun shop dealer sold her a pistol for home defense rather than a shotgun is beyond me. Even if she couldn't handle a 12 gauge, there is always a 20 gauge with less kick.
