Mark Zuckerberg: Lockdown Protests Are ‘Misinformation,’ Facebook Will Ban Organizers

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says that posts and pages attempting to organize protests against stay-at-home orders will be banned as “misinformation.”

The Facebook CEO confirmed that the posts would be banned to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on a segment of Good Morning America.

Stephanopoulos asked Zuckerberg how the company deals “with the fact that Facebook is now being used to organize a lot of these protests to defy social distancing guidelines in states. If somebody trying to organize something like that, does that qualify as harmful misinformation?”

“We do classify that as harmful misinformation and we take that down,” confirmed Zuckerberg, while at the same time saying that it’s important “that people can debate policies.”

A Facebook spokesman confirmed to CNN that planned protests in California, New Jersey, and Nebraska were having their pages removed from Facebook at the request of state authorities.

The man cannot be trusted. You are not going to recognize this country in a year.

Something major is up-besides trying to get rid of Trump.

How are the decisions of Zuckerberg/Facebook acting under color of law?

Don’t misunderstand. The actions of Zuckerberg/Facebook are undemocratic and wrong. “The citizens of Michigan should have the right to buy cucumber seeds.” That is an opinion I agree with. Maybe someone can come up with a counter-argument that cucumber seeds are a danger to humanity. But I can’t see how that position can be disinformation at all.

Perfect time to start another service where people can meet with having their freedom of speech cut off.

A huge class action suit should be enough to break up the company.

Mark Zuckerberg: Lockdown Protests Are ‘Misinformation,’ Facebook Will Ban Organizers

And here's how a mass communications system will censor political opposition. They call it "misinformation" as though they are performing a public service in stopping people from spreading lies.

And they decide what they want to regard as a lie.

There needs to be a government mandated digital commons were all posts are displayed from different social media companies like facebook, myspace, etc by default so that people can still see their friend’s posts and content and yet still choose a private provider that serves their needs better. if people want to be stay solely within the Facebook prison they can log on to Facebook alone but, if they want to see content from both Facebook and other social media sites then they can go to the digital commons.

They also need to pass laws that users own their social data and content, much like a medical record, and if they want to move to another provider it can be automatically ported to the new provider. The social media providers could be driven purely by fee-based service, free with advertising, or a mix of both.

How interesting (NOT) that Snuffleupagus convinced Suckerburg to close communication on protests.
This isn’t going to end well.

how is it misinformation, let alone harmful misinformation to state facts about a protest being organized? That a protest is being organized is a verifiable fact, it is not misinformation.

Newspeak.
