I’m a big Trump fan but this sounds like a backtrack for sure. I don’t have any problem with the National Guard shooting looters if necessary to restore order, though I don’t remember the last time it was done.
Some bad optics though, when “looting leads to shooting” was apparently a phrase used by George Wallace and others in segregation times.
Twitter is having a field day over this.
When I have to justify a tweet to myself, it is over the line. Trump needs to walk this back.
Concerned Conservatives are how we got so deep into this frickin’ hole.
The time to Play Nice ended a looooong time ago.
The time to play appeasement games with the left was Never.
“Looting leads to shooting” should stand as a warning to the scum who think they should profit at the expense of innocents. Minneapolis (and other targeted areas) should position snipers on the roofs in target areas and declare open season on looters with no criminal liability — period.
So, whiners, if you don’t want to get shot then don’t go there...stay home. Life is so much nicer when people behave rationally and not like animals.
True, but they moved on. The thing is, if 'twitter' voted, Bernie Sanders would have the nomination. But they don't.
looting leads to shooting
I believe what POTUS means is that first they loot and then they shoot - meaning the anarchists. And that is truly their MO (modus operendi)
They'd have a field day over whatever he said.
I think it was used by a Miami Pokice Chief or Dade County Sherriff back in the 60s. As a kid I clearly remember the stories that looters would be shot back during the Mississippi floods in the 50s. I remember asking my mom what looting was. Also during the Newark riots in 67 Life had a pic of a Newark cop taking a bead on a fleeing looter with his shotgun. Don’t know if he fired.
I remember. I was a child then
Again, Twitter ... is ..... not ..... reflective ....... of ....... reality.
97% of political tweets come from less than 10% of users and those 10% are overwhelmingly leftist freaks.
Twitter is a leftist sewer and full of group think.
According to Twitter:
Hilliary! Was going to win in a landslide.
Trump was going to be removed.
Kavanaugh was not going to be confirmed.
Brexit was never going to happen.
Jeremy Corbin was going to win in a landslide.
At what point will you stop believing that echo chamber?
I think anytime someone starts a post with "I'm a big Trump fan" they don't understand how Trump speaks. In this particular case the two tweets are the same thing. He didn't change or backtrack.
