When he invaded Iraq, that was it for me. I didn’t vote for Bush in 2004, or for McCain in 2008 or for Romney in 2016. Neocon foreign policy is a deadly con We should be building up America, not trying to remake the Middle East

That was Trumps message in 2016 so I could finally vote for a Reupblica presidential candidate once again.

I really can’t blame Bush for not supporting Trump. Trump has said Bushs invasion of Iraq was one of the stupidest, most disastrous foreign policy decisions in American history. Bush isn’t going to support somebody who has called him out as a destructive idiot. Bush can go vote for Biden, who supported Bush’s moronic war.

Yep. Millions of us jumped in a fox hole with Bush. Twice. Now he frags us. Never forgive, never forget.

For a while, have been VERY disappointed in W. And, I worked hard to help get him elected...and, yes, voted for him twice. Had no idea he was a phony. Trump is who he is and says what he means w/o flowery words and, imho, that’s why they hate him.

Me, too. In the "lesser of two evils" and "tweedle dum and tweedle dee" Republicrat versus Demopublicans decades that's how we did it. Dukakis and Mondale would have been bad news.

But what became of loyalty and honor? I was a daily lurker on FR then and everyone accepted that W was not a hero but we were trying to preserve our possibility of a conservative future.

But then HE doesn't feel he owes any of us loyalty to back the man WE elected. Too bad if his nerdy little moron brother went full A-hole and never won a primary. Not our fault Trump was superior.

Voted for him, then stood many days in 2000 on Massachusetts Avenue with others chanting “Get out of Cheney’s House.” For this betrayal of the people who supported him in his hour of need two decades ago? And stood by him and up for him as he was trashed throughout his presidency by the very people whose favor he now curries? Bush should be ashamed.

Did we all have a choice then?

GD I was sick and tired of voting for the lessor of two evils..that is until the Donald came along.

I didn’t vote for Bush, I voted against the democrat.

We had a choice for President. A communist or a democrat.

So did I...the first time. Couldn't do it in O4. I never forgave him for the WMD lies and for the way he conducted the war on terror in general.

It was not a pleasant experience being on these boards and not supporting the Iraq War as well as not supporting the debacle in Afghanistan. I was called every name in the book and stayed off these boards for damn near 5 years. (It was in Obama's first year that I came back)
