I've owned a handgun for years, but the riots have convinced me I need a shotgun as well. Ditto. Any recommendations out there?

I'm also looking for recommendations - hopefully I get a pointer to an inexpensive, quality shotgun before I give in to temptation and start looking into those expensive Benellis =).

Maverick 88 Security by Mossberg. Add a Knoxx stock if you are recoil sensitive and it's like shooting something much smaller.

Look at the Lynx 12 by SDS Imports. Yes, it is Chinese made, but it is cheap and well made. Produced in a factory which has been making AK’s since 1977.
The Lynx 12 is a similar gun to the Saiga, but could be had (Pre riots) for $439.
It is a shotgun built on an AK platform. 12 round mags as fast as you can pull the trigger. Nothing much more devastating than that.

Mossberg 500, Mossberg 590A1, Mossberg Maverick 88(least expensive), or Remington 870.
Look for variants of these in a “home defense” stature that has a tube magazine capacity of atleast 6 rounds.
