Trying to slow the spread only slows the spread. The virus is out in the world so we need it to make its run and get our immunity going. Like the other viral nuisances like colds and flu...
1. Something that has a chance to kill you or cause permanent organ damage is not just a "nuisance".
2. We don't have the hospital capacity to handle massive numbers of people getting the virus at the same time.
3. There are reports by people treating the virus that immununty to covid after getting it may only last a few months. Most people calling for a "herd immunity" approach are not doctors, immunologists, or virus experts.
4. Even with the shutdowns, the virus has already killed over 140,000 Americans. How many do you think it would kill if we just let it run wild? You're OK with that?
5. Would you rather get immunity to smallpox or polio from getting one of these diseases or from a vaccine?
