Can we start a gofundme to send Jerry Nadler to Portland?

How many of them are out on bail?

72 arrests are not enough, but it is a good start.

These charges will break most of those charged - and send all the right signals to others playing around with violence.

Some fathers need to go to the basements and give serious talks to their grown kids.

While it may not sound like a lot, they’re getting the worst of the worst, and there really aren’t many to begin with. I suspect that the vast majority of the people at the rallies are there for the ‘party atmosphere’, to ‘check it out’, to be ‘part of history’, and to make YouTube videos.

The ones doing the serious terrorism are likely not over 100 or so - and once they are dispensed with, the riots will become boring and they’ll be back to their video games and porn sites.

Grown kids in the basement? A) They aren't "kids." B) "Father" has already miserably failed his role. A "talk" isn't worth the spit on which it travels.

Yes, the numbers do seem to be climbing. Hopefully, it’ll go exponential.

None I hope!

Once the detainees are faced with legal consequences of their crimes AND they comprehend the requirement for payment on damages... maybe, they will TALK about their paymaster and the others, who have ‘deployed’ them.

Not one of them should be released until/unless they provide that information. It’s certain that they are not ‘salt-of-the-earth’ representatives of the ‘downtrodden’ or selfless Crusaders for ‘justice’.

Without avowal of a connection to organized crime, then they are admitting perpetration of the crimes in their OWN name and can take the consequences, personally. PERIOD!!

arrested 74 demonstrators

Demonstrators? You do not arrest demonstrators.

You arrest RIOTERS or VANDALS!

An army of lefty lawyers has already descended on Portland claiming “police brutality” and that the protests were “peaceful,” and antifa is a “myth.”

They’ve probably already been bailed out. Will be interesting to see what the feds do.

Good start, sure.

But until they are punished with serious jail time, there will be no deterrent effect.

Let them out on bail. By the time they pay a bondsman and retain a lawyer, they’re going to be out several thousand dollars.

it would be nice to see the names of those arrested so some background checks could be done.

Thus far, the American public knows next to nothing about the ANTIFA/BLM/DEMOCRAT thugs who have been fomenting violence for over two months.

Lets hope they are singing their hearts out about leadership. Need to get to the top of the fododchain to stop this.

How many of them are out on bail?

When it comes to bond, federal court is substantially different than state court. There is no "cash bond" in federal court (except in VERY rare cases). Either the government moves to detain pre-trial or they do not. If they move to detain, then there will be a detention hearing held and the judge will either order them detained, or let them out on their own recognizance. If released, then they will be under supervision of the pre-trial services office. If they screw up on pre-trial release, they will likely be detained.

A lot of this depends on what they are charged with as well if the government will move to detain or not. As far as lawyers go, if they can't afford one they will either be represented by the federal public defender's office or a private attorney will be appointed to represent them.

Many of those fathers have likely abandoned the family and divorced.

Last week a court ruled media outlets have to turn over their video to the police.

I don't know it they've complied yet or they're stalling and destroying evidence.

Law enforcement should be publicly demanding the video and shame news outlets for not cooperating.
