The game has rules. He doesn't set the rules, no matter what you believe. The grandmasters running the game have him at an instant disadvantage from day 1. Not an excuse, but a fact.
Fauci is a celebrity now and has been since this shit started. If President Trump turns on him, even if warranted, what do you think happens next? Plenty of people will be thrilled and very happy, and I would be one of them. Of course, I understand exactly what would happen next, and so should you. The “fallout” would be instant and enormous.
You weigh the pros and cons of your actions in the arena of the game and you navigate the course that keeps you in the game. It would seem the cons of your proposed action would outweigh the pros, and this is a minor sideshow to current events so what does President Trump gain at this specific point in time?
There's a lot more going on around the country and world to expose himself to the “fallout” of such an unimportant “issue”.
Timing is also crucial. Perhaps Fauci really steps in it one day and that clears the way for the action we desire.
