Eight people with Seattle-based Riot Kitchen released from custody in Kenosha, but vehicles held amid police investigation

Eight volunteers of the Seattle-based Riot Kitchen arrested Wednesday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, have been released but law-enforcement officials continue to hold their three vehicles as well as cellphones and some other personal items, according to a board member of the nonprofit. The volunteers drove a minivan, bread truck and black-painted school bus to Kenosha to serve free food during protests

the snak van snuck in and out of Kenosha and headed to DC where they tried the Portland tactic of driving between the protestors and the DC police line. But instead of just slashed tires, they got got.

Not sure if the DC folks have been released but now that the riot folks have been released, the fundme requests should start showing up on twitter. Let’s see how long it takes ‘anonymous funders’ to replace them, and who those funders are.

I would rather starve then eat the food they made. I saw a few pictures of some of the fare they offered in Portland, trays of food, just strewn all over the tables, noting labelled, properly heated or chilled or covered, no utensils to take food from the pans to plates, old food not removed, etc.

they were on their way to DC. Getting to DC was all Portland livestreamers and then rioters could talk about from the day the DC march was announced. When they found out that a Portland livestreamer on the way to DC detoured from an overnight stop in Chicago and beat it down to Kenosha after Kenosha literally exploded, they wanted to join the chaos. And there was a little jealousy there that the one livestreamer was getting ‘all the good footage’. Showing up in DC (and then Minneapolis, Chicago and other planned stops on the return) was a way to get exposure as ‘good Samaritans’ and so solicit even more “donations” for their pockets. To capitalize on the misery of others they helped create. At least, this is what I've gleaned from their posts and videos.

Knowing Seattle, it’s probably stolen. Over the last month, Seattle police have received over 300 reports of auto thefts, that is up 24% compared to the 258 reports made over the same time period last year. The owners may be at home, but their business vehicles, parked in lots or business locations, aren’t. One of them is probably in Wisconsin. Interstate commerce.
