Can someone out there fill me in on Lancaster?
Crime? Little crime? Lots of Urban Amish? Very few Urban Amish?
I guess I always kinda thought Lancaster was in Pennsylvania Dutch area and therefore pretty calm.
Ricardo Munoz, I don’t think he is a Pennsylvania native.
‘I guess I always kinda thought Lancaster was in Pennsylvania Dutch area and therefore pretty calm.’
the southern end of Lancaster city is an armpit, south Queen Street in particular, and becoming more so with every passing day; that said, compared to Harrisburg or Reading, or even York, somewhat safer...the county itself is really comprised of two separate cultures; the northern section, from Millerville to points north, is quite affluent, and striving to become the retirement capital of the world (one of these damned retirement villages was built right next to my property) and is turning bluer as transplants from the Northeast move in...the southern section is still quite rural and underdeveloped; the towns of Quarryville and Pequea, gritty and unsightly, typify the lesser prosperity of the area...
The city of Lancaster, and Lancaster county and the Amish areas are two very different places.Lancaster is just as urban as any other city in many areas.
We were there about 15 years ago. I can’t imagine what it must be like now.
Lancaster City 55% white, 15% black, 38% Hispanic (which transcends races hence total >100)
Blue county, cowed police, dems & leftists rule, anti-PA CCW rules and citizens from neighboring counties can be arrested for violating the city’s firearm laws. I’m from next-door York Cty, but carry anyway. Eff ‘em; my atty’s on speed dial.
