There should be a 7 day strike for all police and law enforcement officers, especially for those who are on private protection details for dem politicians, and in every major dem city (with the exception of Detroit!)
There should be a single rule when it comes to police interfering with protests. As long as protests are PEACEFUL, and not as if CNN/MSNBC envisions “mostly peaceful,” then the protest will be allowed. As soon as someone puts a hand on a police officer, the protest ends and everyone is immediately arrested. Period.

Why go upstate when you go out of state?
Some places in upstate NY seem to still be sane. And if the officers for some reason want to stay within the State of New York (family, kids, etc.), it makes sense. (Not to me, but to them). :-)
