The Canonization of Saint Ruth Bader Ginsburg
American Thinker.com ^ | September 27, 2020 | Fay Voshell

Anyone who watched the lines of people who paid their respects to Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she lay in state at the Supreme Court would have noticed a peculiar atmosphere. The reactions of those filing past her coffin went far beyond ordinary, quiet, and respectful homage to the dead. Women and little girls were kneeling down before her, offering prayerful salutes and shedding tears of grief and rage. Some were almost hysterical.

Once again, it's clear that the left is deeply religious. Be it the elevation of Greta Thunberg to the status of St. Joan of Arc; the high reverence accorded Al Gore, the prophet of doom whose declamations have rivaled those of St. John's pronouncements in the book of Revelation; or now the late Justice Ginsburg, it is apparent that the left has a religious need for saints as surely as any Christian church.

Now already elevated above her mortal status as a judge on the bench of the Supreme Court, Ginsburg is seated in the pantheon of the left. Even her final words, in which she apparently expressed a wish that her replacement not be nominated until after the election, are as authoritative as scripture to devotees such as Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, who believes that the oracular pronouncements of an "icon" of the left are to supersede the directives of America's constitution.

After the memorials in her honor are complete, Ginsburg doubtless will be accorded hagiographies. What is perhaps more troubling than the accordance of sainthood on the former justice by the left are the obsequies of Christians and others who have almost fought one another in conferring honors on a person who was unalterably and ferociously opposed to everything Christianity once stood for without apology:

She can be venerated along with her soul mates Saint George Floyd (of the most blessed fentanyl) and Saint Michael Brown (he who raised his hands in prayer).

It doesn’t surprise me. They canonized John McCain and George Floyd, too.

Ruth Bader-Meinhof was a terrorist.

Should I go there? Nah, wouldn’t be prudent.

RBG was a superstar as an activist lawyer...lots of big wins under her little belt.

But as a SCOTUS justice Ginsberg was almost invisible. She did not author a single opinion of any consequence, let alone a landmark one. She became "famous" for her increasingly shrill dissents which were entirely political and divorced from actual jurisprudence. Kagan has already had more impact -- and has worked with conservatives on several rulings -- in a short time than RBG ever did.

Everyone is missing the real point. Those tragi-comic reactions have nothing to do with RBG. All the screeching about RBG’s “dying wish” has nothing to do with RBG herself.

The reaction is to the feared loss of Roe v Wade and that is all there is to it. RBG just happens to be the ‘Casey at the bat’ who struck out by not retiring under Obama.

RBG screwed them all in the end, and they have only her giant ego to blame. But they can’t face that either.

It’s all a beautiful thing.

Absolutely spot on, though I would add that she was also known for her sharp and often demeaning questions during oral arguments. As a Justice she fell far short of Sandra Day O’Connor.

The only decent thing to do is retire her Court Seat, 8 justices are enough.

How about the synagogue’s Rosh Hashanah service that substituted the Word of RBG for the Word of God?

...The rabbi said that those people who wanted a traditional Haftorah — that is, those who want God’s words to see in the New Year — could go and find it elsewhere. He believes it’s more important to these allegedly religious people to advance Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a “modern-day prophet.”...

I see the RSG Death Cult another way...

The cult leaders body was rightfully baking in the sun all day,... booted outside of the Supreme Court to the steps...with her aides positioned in a most weird and bizarre display of death cult loyalty....as her sinister followers adorned themselves as cult followers - identifying with her as their leader...while presenting young girls as the next generation of this dark death cult.

An undistinguished career on the bench, notably primarily for her unwavering support for liberal positions.

Kaslin :" Once again, it's clear that the left is deeply religious. "

".. the left is deeply religious " is an incorrect statement.
The left remains deeply committed to ideology,.. and NOT a theocracy .
They have replaced God, or any other deity, with only reverence for "The State"; that is, in truth, the essence of Fascism.

Ginsburg’s dissent on banning partial birth abortion. She was an unfeeling ghoul.

Approximately 150 interns hired during her SC term. Only one was African American.

Think of all the affirmative action cases she ruled on. One set of rules for me, another for you.
