This happening when I grew up? Less than a zero chance!! If it had, the perp would not be walking the next day. Freedom has responsibility attached. Back in the day, segregation was the order of the day. My personal opinion having grown up in the South, everyone over the age of puberty knew that the end of segregation was the end of racial purity, and no one had much interest in seeing that reality.
Responsible American negroes bore the brunt of the efforts against irresponsible ones when the races were segregated. Now it seems the races want or need to be segregated once more but the genie is out of that bottle. The next idea is to be carrying, and what would have been the options short of blowing this guy away during the fracas? Throwing chairs certainly was brave considering what the crowd was viewing.
Justice may not be possible in this particular case. This animal somehow broke out of the zoo, and being put down might have been justice, but now he is in the hands of the legal profession, where justice might not be possible.
