CHICAGO An 18-year-old man out on bond for a gun case was held without bail after he livestreamed himself during a sexual act with a 7-year-old first grader on break from her Chicago Public Schools remote learning class on Thursday prosecutors said.
Catrell A. Walls, of the West Chesterfield neighborhood on the South Side, was arrested Thursday afternoon shortly after 3:30 p.m., after he was seen molesting the girl, police said.
Walls, charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13 years old, appeared for a bond hearing Saturday afternoon before Judge Charles Beach.
Police were made aware of the attack when the girl's teacher saw it on a computer screen during a Google classroom e-learning session.

Lightfoot’s Chicago.
I guess that ‘sophos’ anti’whatever did not work.
How many more instances of child abuse are being perpetrated and undetected while children are going to school?
As long as keeping students home saves one life......
Not to worry. For “public health reasons” the child molester will be released on his “own recognizance” and on his “promise to appear” because, you know, Lightfoot has a “duty to society” to protect felons from the Covid Cooties.
OMG thats disgusting! Jackass needs to be shot.
That poor child. Never mind all those able to see it.
Maybe in some ways this is a blessing. Idiots like that more likely to get themselves in trouble and caught.
While I completely agree with the sentiment kids need to be in school, I think in this case this poor girl was fortunate to have a remote session so her animal attacker was caught. If she was going to school she would just be abused after school with no one to even see and save her.
Where is our country heading? So sad.
An 18-year-old man out on bond for a gun case...
— What’s the bet that a left-wing group paid his bail on the gun charge.
For this particular child the video is probably more effective as it seems that the abuse was ongoing. For a large percentage of abused children, the abuse is detected by an adult in school.
I pulled my kindergartener out of school first week of classes when they told me to sign a waiver for internet in case they came across sexual content. These kids have zero need to be on the internet.
Home school or go home. Wait..
Was he doing a Biden?
The iPhone was only introduced in 2007. Now a huge proportion of Americans have smartphones. Lockdown would not have been tolerated without this ability to communicate.
Was it Facebook?
I powered it off and put it in a paper grocery bag. Am I paranoid?
Only if the paper bag is lined with tin foil.
Long trial and release to follow.
