Overnight Defense: Is Trump going to fire Esper? | Head of nuclear security agency resigns | US military acknowledges two civilian injuries in Somalia

Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s position is appearing more precarious by the day.

Talk is picking up that President Trump could fire members of his Cabinet, including Esper, even as the presidential election goes uncalled.

Esper has long been seen as out-the-door regardless of who wins the election, including the possibility that he would resign during the transition period if Trump loses.

Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin reported Friday that multiple sources tell him Esper could be fired as early as this week.

A GOP source has echoed this expectation to The Hill that Esper may be gone as soon as this week, but another source familiar with the matter cautioned Friday morning that nothing is definitive.

A House Armed Services Committee aide said Friday the panel has not been “advised on any imminent personnel changes within Pentagon leadership.”

What the Pentagon says: The Pentagon on Friday referred The Hill to a statement issued the day before in response to an NBC News report that Esper has prepared a letter of resignation. In the statement, chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said Esper “has no plans to resign, nor has he been asked to submit a letter of resignation.”

Talkie talkie rumor rumor-— they have zero idea. If so -Trump has exactly the “acting” SecDef to carry out necessary orders should civil unrest require action. Bang—zoom! And thus why the woo woo factor of the Hill’s bull crap speculation for the deep state.

Should fire Barrstool if they can actually find out where he is. Probably at a conference which precludes him from addressing 400,000 BALLOTS DROPPED AT 4 IN THE MORNING 100% for Biden. Gotta admit, the CNN ‘outrage’ he had over Mail in ballot mess should = academy award. Bet he talks to Pelosi daily.

I wonder if this Voter Theft is what Tony Scaramucci meant a few weeks ago when he tweeted Steve Scully on Oct.9.2020.

Scully: “Should I respond to trump”
Scaramucci: “Ignore. He’s having a hard enough time.
Some bad stuff about to go down.”

Two? Civilian injuries? Makes the news?

I love describing how we fought world war II.

Allies bombing a German factory making artillery shells (as an example).

In order for the airstrike to be successful, bombs are dropped before the factory, on the factory, and after the factory, destroying the factory and many of its workers and supporters that live near the factory.

Sometimes 1,000 allied aircraft went out on a mission and only 500 aircraft came home. 12 aircrew per aircraft, meant 6,000 airmen either were captured or killed in one nighttime raid.

What WWII American aircraft carried a crew of 12?

The largest WWII airplane was the B29, and it had a crew of 10. The largest US bombers in Europe were the B17 and B24, both pretty much the same size, and they had a crew of 8 to 10, depending on the mission.

"Hearing rumors around Pentagon that @EsperDoD and @DepSecDef may not survive the day -- without any authorization, they have been assisting the Biden translation team even as votes are still being counted.
This is a coup people."

A thousand pardons for such an egregious error.

Did you even get the point of my post?

Yup, I sure did. But it would be more credible if you had better facts. Though it’s likely not relevant in this instance, in certain circumstances a faulty premise on one count can negate the entire proposition.
