Update: Iowa’s 2nd Congressional Race Could Be Determined By Handful of Votes
The Iowa Torch ^ | 11/24/20 | Shane Vanderhart

DES MOINES, Iowa – Only 37 votes now separate State Senator Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Ottumwa, from former State Senator Rita Hart, D-Wheatland, in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District race according to the Iowa Secretary of State’s website.

Kevin Hall, a spokesperson for the Iowa Secretary of State’s office, told The Iowa Torch that the results currently only reflect recounts in 17 of the district’s 24 counties. Appanoose, Cedar, Davis, Decatur, Des Moines, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Muscatine, Van Buren, Wapello, Washington, and Wayne counties have completed their recount and their results are reflected in the unofficial results. (Update: 21 counties are now complete. Clinton, Johnson, and Scott counties have not completed their recount.)

Jasper County recount results are not yet included in the totals and the Hart campaign said their candidate picked up nine votes. Their recount process is under dispute.

There is disagreement over results provided by a machine that broke down after a machine recount of absentee ballots begun. The Hart campaign said the Miller-Meeks campaign is balking at a process they agreed to.

Rats trying to steal another one. Keep counting until they get the results they want.

This race could be decided in court or perhaps they literally draw a name out of a hat. Could things get any weirder this year?

The results of this race determine if the IA House delegation is 3:1 R:D or 2:2. While the Rs hold a significant advantage in state delegations versus the Ds, 27:19, should the Presidential election go to the House, that extra R vote gives a little bit more of a safety net. It can’t go for the Ds either way, just be R or neutral.

If it hadn’t been for the libertarian and a crappy candidate in David “Milquetoast” Young, we would have won the 3rd district.

I am not ashamed to have said months ago that, despite my respect for libertarian FReepers, we could not afford to have a symbolic throwaway vote endanger the future of the United States as a Republic by contributing to narrow wins by Dems.

Like the Dem officials' vote fraud that local news says "didn't affect the outcome of the election as to winning and losing"----the Libertarian vote often is unimportant but doesn't alway represent "wouldn't have voted for anybody anyway". Some take precious votes away from the GOP.

Trump should win if it goes to the House. But never count you chickens...

Some House members have promised to vote they way their states voted. I don’t have the list, but I think it was on FR about a week ago. So, even if massive fraud is shown, the Idiots from the Left will win.

Not to worry. It is based on state delegations not number of House reps. After this election if this went to the House (R)s have 29 state delegations where (R)s hold lower and upper chamber majorities, (D)s have 21. Each State gets 1 vote. (R)s win if it goes to House. No question.

Another election tainted by fraud. Claudia Tenney led by more than 12% on election night, and now is behind in the 22nd Congressional District. This one went to court on Monday:

Brindisi campaign says he’s taken lead over Tenney in NY22 race

I wish the Republicans would’ve scrutinized the Nebraska 2nd District vote a little closer. The Republican House candidate won by 5% but Trump lost the same district by 7%?? Likely fraud in that Omaha district, which cost 1 electoral vote. Which is HUGE, because all Trump would need now is PA and GA to make it a 269-269 tie and go to the House where he wins.

Likely will need a court ruling. Should throw out the recount results in Scott County as Hart is cheating against specific and correct legal advise from our SOS. Iowa recount law is that all counties, of any size, get recounted by 3 people, 1 for each candidate and third they agree on. They are allowed to recount any precinct entirely by hand or entirely by machine, their choice as which. Absentee votes are collectively considered one precinct. They can’t combine machine and hand counting and when Hart proposed to do just that that SOS said NO! Well they’re doing it anyway in Scott County (Davenport), the largest in the district. 60+k absentee votes there. What they want is to find some previously rejected absentee votes and hand interpret ‘voter intent’ into Hart votes. The pile is too big for one group of three to get through all of it by hand so they can’t identify ballots flip that way. But the optical scan machines used Iowa are capable of identifying ballots they can’t count. Put in 60k, get out a couple hundred that aren’t counted and flip enough of them. Under the rules if counted by machine they should stay uncounted, but reportedly Scott County has created 30+ votes just that way. It hasn’t reported formally so the total above doesn’t reflect that. I presume a similar theft is being tried in Johnson County, the next biggest, where Hart won by 30k in the initial count.

Have the Democrats ever lost one of these super close races? Seems like they always know where to find a trunk load of ballots with 90% of the votes for their candidates.

end of this article is interesting...looks like a steal favors hart:

If the unofficial vote pick-ups hold, Miller-Meeks could lead by one, the candidates could be tied, or Hart could lead by three.

3rd Update: We now know what the “new significant discrepancy” in the Scott County recount is. The recount and official canvass are off by 131 votes. With a race this close that is huge. Tom Barton with the Quad-City Times is reporting on the Scott County recount board today.

The Scott County Auditor says this will likely be decided in court, and with a race this close that is not surprising.
