It could have been any one of many minor procedures to assist the medical team in managing the breathing and ventilator support. Almost anything is loosely called an “operation” these days. If a patient is thought to be needing ventilator support for an extended period, an artificial airway called a tracheostomy is temporarily created in the throat region to allow better management of the airway and ventilator and close access to the lungs directly. Improves patient outcomes in most cases.

250,000 people die every year due to medical malpractice/accidents, how many less malpractice suits this year will be blamed on the Covid for insurance companies
