Lets see 2 parties representing half the country with at least some decency and American spirit, vs 1 party of idiot Marxist. The voting public then goes 10% to Rep, 40% to Pats, and 50% to the Marxist.

Americanism is dead.

GOP better play their cards carefully. Trump can effectively squash the GOP and their candidates at any time.

This has the makings of dumpster fire all over it.
Trump’s following in the very footsteps of his political mentor Theodore roosevelt the fore father of new nationalist populist movement and later the progressive movement.
The problem? It will destroy the conservative movement it will allow the Communist democrats to reign supreme forever.

Mark my words nothing good will come of this as the bull and moose party faded away so too shall the MAGA nationalist populist party for us conservatives? Total darkness ahead

Here’s the plan:

Wait until the day after the Senate impeachment hearings are finished.

Announce that he’s changing his voter registration to the Constitution Party. It’s established. (Plus, it has a gorgeous logo!)

Then stand back the day after that and watch the mile-long lines at every Clerk’s Office across the nation.

Then watch the GOP establishment crap their pants as they lose 50,000,000 voters.

Trump should (1) work for Republican candidates he supports for Congressional posts in 2022, and (2) let the work and outcome of that process help determine any 3rd party possibilities. I think it is very possible Trump can strengthen how many GOP office holders are with him, in spite of the GOP elite in Washington D.C. today.

What gives me hope for that?

It most of all comes from the last election.

1. Great efforts and great expenses were made to cleave Republican, and Conservative Christian voters from Trump in the 2022 election. Some of those efforts were led by RINOs, like the Lincoln Project. Some were made by well know “evangelical” Christians. None of those efforts work. Republican voters did not defect from Trump in 2022. Evangelical Christians did not defect from Trump in 2022. Exit polls and post election surveys showed Trump lost no GOP or Conservative Christian voters, as a share of such voters, in 2022.

2. There was no “Blue Wave” when it come to either Conressional or state races. In spite of all the triumphalism of the Dims they were in fact soundly beaten out of most of the races where they thought they would gain in the number of positions they held. The two Georgia special post-election senate races were outliers compared to most of the races in 2022.

Yes, the presidency is important, and because of the increased use of executive orders and the powers of the administrative state it has some ultimate importance in many instances.

But, in my view, being despondent over the stolen presidency and all the events related to it, if taken to extremes, tends to hide and ignore how very well the GOP actually did in the 2022 elections. Doing that is a supreme act of throwing the baby out with the bath water.

That is what I would say to Trump. He should not dismiss all the GOP elections his 75+ million voters did win in 2022, and the many new Trump backed office holders they raised up.

I’M IN. SIGN ME UP!! Where do I join. I am not a member of the RINO party since GWB’s reign of stupidity. Thanks for the Patriot (tearing down of personal liberties) Act Georgie. Then you disappear and am never heard from again, take slaps at Donald, and play to the liberals. In fact, I’m glad you exiled yourself to the ranch. Stay there. I’ll join up with Trump’s new party.

Fine by me as I’m done with the GOP. Any Red politician can count me out unless a particular candidate can prove otherwise. I’ll be concentrating on 3rd party.

I don’t have an issue with President Trump starting a new political party but I wish he would first go after the MSM monopoly. Of course, President Trump is an energetic man who can accomplish much, so maybe he can do both.

Do it. Our nation is supposed to be a two-party system but both idiotic parties burned that to the ground.

Some folks here are too negative about the history of third parties. Let’s consider two examples.

Theodore Roosevelt started the Progressive Party (colloquially, Bull Moose). The situation was the mirror image of today, in that TR was dissatisfied the GOP as being too conservative. In 1912, Roosevelt, on the new party’s first try, came in second, outpolling Taft, the nominee of the long-established Republican Party.

What happened in the next election (1916) was that the GOP got the message and nominated a “progressive” candidate (Charles Evans Hughes) more to TR’s liking. TR endorsed Hughes and urged his followers to vote Republican, so the Bull Moose Party fell apart. If a new Patriot Party “fails” that same way, with Trump in the TR role, I’ll take it!

The earlier example is from the 1850s. There was an established system with two major parties, Democrats and Whigs. There was a lot of dissatisfaction among Whigs over the party’s failure to be firmly anti-slavery. In 1856, the most recent (and, it turned, last) Whig President, Millard Fillmore, was nominated by the new American Party, and the Whig Party convention endorsed him. There was also a new Republican Party. On its first try, it came in second, with John C. Fremont outpolling Fillmore. As in 1912, the result of the split was that no one got a majority of the popular vote and the Democrat (James Buchanan) won with a plurality.

So, was the result decades of rule by Democrats? Of course not. The old Whig Party and the new American Party quickly died out. The Republican Party went on to win in 1860 and, except for Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilson, won every election from 1860 through 1928.

The takeaway: Both of these third party efforts were successful – the Republicans by displacing the previous major party, and the Bull Moose by forcing one of the established parties to change its ways. I agree with the posts pointing out how Trump’s powerful base would enable him to jump-start a new party, in a way that Ross Perot could never dream of.

If there is someone who could do it... He could...

I have no doubt if Trump recruited solid conservatives, and got them on the ballot in the right places, you’d see this party take some house seats in 22 at the very least.

I’m going to be the downer here, I don’t want President Trump to ever run again for any office. He’s done, it’s over. What I do want are people who can create a realistic platform that gets the Republican Party back in contention to be elected, and to lead the entire country not just half.
