I don’t know what’s wrong with so many Freepers who don’t seem to care how they violate conservative standards. Maybe they are so hardened that when they see vulgarity they don’t even notice it.
Polite society died long ago. Dying here, too, sadly. Too easily slouched into.
Had to take a break a few years ago, it was not the FR we know and enjoy. Debate, discussion, agreeing to disagree. Gentlemen and Gentlewomen. Obama changed this forum.. infiltrators perhaps.
Popular TV shows are profuse with sex scenes even if the refrain from the fBomb. Movies on the other hand hardly know any other word. Desensitization is the purpose and it works.
Things get crazy around election time. We all know that, but can’t seem to help ourselves.
As for being hardened against profanity, I agree.
When teenage girls walk around with “Juicy” on their low-cut sweat pants, and the coarseness (swearing, violence and sex) of cable TV, we as a society have seem to have lost perspective.
