Yes, and most of the comments that followed ours are also failing to recognize this is fake news.
Powell took a big personal risk by invoking her first amendment right to speak the truth about Dominion because she is a patriot.
She knew that if President Trump prevailed, she would be protected and if he did not, she would be attacked ruthlessly by the vindictive Left.
She lost that gamble, as did all patriots - and now she has to let her lawyers defend her in the most effective way they can.
Her lawyers know that her best defense is not to double down and try to convince the morons on the Left that there was indeed fraud.
Her best defense is to prove her claims were not liable and were not defamation, because they were made in the political arena.
It is shameful how quick so many FReepers are to throw this patriot under the bus.

She is using reverse psychology. Brilliant.

I like my counsel to be competent and my entertainers to be showboaters. The showboater lawyers I've seen are usually hacks but I'm happy to be proven otherwise with Powell. In contrast to
Rudy who was not a showboater but incompetent I will wait and see this one out.

Yep I got attacked for saying this. Meanwhile, there was legitimate fraud exposed in the PA hearings, but we’re not talking about this. We were talking about CIA servers and other nonsense, and I get called a deep state shill for saying as such. 2020 was the year I started going directly to block with no warnings.

I honestly hope they bankrupt this crank. By sucking up all the oxygen, she made it more difficult to focus on the actual fraud that went on. More and more, both she and Lin Wood seem like undercover Swamp creatures. No kidding. To see people actually falling for this?

It would appear your reading of the briefs was not adequate.

Why are ya’ll misrepresenting what she said the same way CNN et al does.
I read enough to know that is a deceptive distortion on what she wrote. She said any reasonable person would know they were claims made to be decided in an appropriate court.
I don’t know if her claima are true or not, but I know the ccharacterization that her defense is that her claims are too outrageous for any reasonable person to believe is an intelligent deceptive distortion.

I’m with you on this, especially after she filed a suit in which her “expert” discussed election returns in a county that doesn’t exist anywhere in the United States.

Fair enough.

...”She isn’t backing down and her claims were accurate. But she is merely using the words of dominion against them in a legal sense.”
I like your response.
Much better than the praise she received here followed by the kick her while she’s down activity posted here.

Her defense, more or less, is The use of the phrase "more or less" means, 100% of the time, that you're about to read the writer's dishonest interpretation of what the person actually said.
Another "indicator" is when "you see" the writer putting "small phrases" in quotation marks "surrounded by" their own words, "making entirely" new points "using the original speakers" words as if "it's" something "they actually" said.

It’s not a legal opinion whether or not Dominion was founded by or on concert with a Venezuelan dictator.
That is something that can be proven or verified.
To: Fightin Whitey; OHelix
So you agree that she's a liar.
Fair enough.
That's neither a fair nor accurate characterization of what Powell's lawyers wrote. As I wrote above, "In other words, the plaintiffs' complaint doesn't state a legal claim because, as drafted, no reasonable person would believe such statements to be true. Ergo, plaintiffs admit they suffered no damages."

This is why when sued, a wise person hires a lawyer, or a team of them, to make these arguments.
