Former President Donald Trump says he will “soon” endorse someone to run against U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney in next year’s Republican primary election, saying it’s important to have only a single candidate opposing her.
A handful of Republicans have announced they’re challenging Cheney in 2022, including state Sen. Anthony Bouchard, R-Cheyenne, and state Rep. Chuck Gray, R-Casper.
“... so many people are looking to run against Crazy Liz Cheney — but we only want one,” Trump said in a Wednesday evening statement. “She is so far down in Wyoming polls that the only way she can win is numerous candidates running against her and splitting the vote. Hopefully, that won’t happen.”
“I’ll make an Endorsement soon!” he wrote.

with all due respect Mr. President. why don’t you wait for the wyoming deplorables to make an endorsement (perferably a person with no experience in politics) and then endorse that person.

He will wait for the party and voters to select their favorite and then he will endorse, very smart politics. Liz will not be reelected.
They can’t wait for the “voters” to make a decision. They have to clear out the primary field BEFORE the primary so there is only ONE challenger and Cheney doesn’t have an opportunity to win the primary with just 25% of the vote against multiple challengers.
Wyoming doesn’t have a runoff election. Whoever has the most votes in the primary wins.
