On February 7, 2021 Tom Brady extended his record for most Super Bowl wins by a player with his seventh and extended his record for Super Bowl MVP awards, with five.
Brady is the NFL’s oldest player to be named Super Bowl MVP (age 43), win a Super Bowl as the starting quarterback (age 43), and be named league MVP (age 40).
But I guess quitting and letting your team and country down makes one more qualified for athlete of the year.

Didn’t Bruce Jenner get some sort of reward for coming out transgender back in that day.

I recall the days when Awards were well earned and awarded properly......now they mean nothing whatsoever.
While I have no problem with athletes choosing not to go to the Olympics, and there are worthy reasons not to go, however it seems our present culture doesn't reward real accomplishment. Isn't there some athlete that had some amazing accomplishment this year and shouldn't his excellence be rewarded. Excellence, hmmm, that's a problem. They don't recognize American excellence any longer no matter what the endeavor.
Quite honestly Biles should go over there and kick some commie ass. Perhaps she's not up to it any longer.
