I will never forget about 20 years ago my 12 yo daughter was getting a checkup and we told the tiny bespectacled MD she had some behavior issues (big mistake). He looked at her ears and throat, asked her a couple of questions and immediately proclaimed she has ADD and needed to take Ritalin. My wife even went and got the prescription filled. I had to put my foot down forbid her from taking the “medication.”
Same here. Would not give mine that stuff, even though the school was urging. By a miracle "coincidence", God provided a seemingly random person who struck up a conversation while waiting for a bus, who ended up telling me my kid had food allergies. Got the kid tested, took some foods out of the diet, and poof! Six weeks, and the hyperactivity went away.
