Excellent book— and reveals Dean in it up to his neck. Maureen Dean was in the DNC hooker book the burglars stole— under direction of Dean. Been a while since read it- the motivation of this lying dweeb John Dean. Wasn’t he originally one of Maureen’s customers, before marrying her?
Do wish Nixon had tossed the plumbers under the bus. The press and libs were out to get Nixon for Alger Hiss— who was clearly a Soviet agent (and they couldn’t have that be known, along with Harry Hopkins and a host of other FDR/Truman admin emplaced Soviets).
Bill Clinton was no saint either...
It’s CNN, what do you expect; they wouldn’t know current news or for that matter REAL NEWS if it bit them in the ass
Houston we YOU have a problem.
Alex, I'll take notable FBI Agents involved with the infamous Watergate break-in, for a thousand dollars.
ANSWER: The G-MAN himself was the name of his Radio Show, a.k.a., Gordon Liddy. Wink, wink, Mrs. Liddy sure did own a lot of gun's. after all Gordon was a convicted felon, and as such couldn't OWN ANY WEAPON's.
The G-Man {Gordon Liddy} would talk in GREAT DETAIL about the purchases Mrs. Liddy would make, and proudly boast that by LAW, he was not able to own any firearms.
Now, just in case your stupid enough not to understand what the G-MAN was in fact doing, he was TELEGRAPHING verbally, to the Dept. of Justice, yes a weapon was purchased by someone with the LAST name of Liddy, and no it wasn't Gordon who made the purchases. Oh and by the way, the "HIDDEN MESSAGE IN PLAIN SIGHT," for anybody with a badge, if you plan a Midnight raid, make sure to bring your own body-bag, your gonna need it. Now, he always made sure to follow up that it wasn't a threat to Law enforcement, but merely a promise, and they should act accordingly. After all, it's against the LAW to threaten a law enforcement officer.
Question to me: Are you saying he did this over the public air waves, on his radio show? ANSWER: with a Shite-Eaten Grin, yes I am. Oh, and many more occasions also. I loved it.
Tres interessant.
Nice to see they are conjuring up water gate to closely align it with January 6th and trump
They tried with Trump (and are still trying) but Nixon was the biggest Republican fish they ever pulled from the stream.
Peanuts indeed

Judge Emmit Sullivan, a federal judge in Washington, has added an important chapter to the saga of Watergate, the scandal that toppled Richard Nixon, but the media have not reported it. Nine years ago, Silent Coup, a best-selling book by Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin, challenged the accepted version of the Watergate story. They claimed they had found the answer to a question that puzzled a lot of people: Why did the Nixon reelection campaign send a burglary team into the offices of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in June 1972?
G. Gordon Liddy, who served four years in prison for his role in the operation, has said it was not until he read Silent Coup that he finally learned the real reason for the caper. He said that White House Counsel John Dean had ordered an earlier break-in to plant a bug on a phone that was used to arrange dates with call girls for visiting Democratic dignitaries, and that the second break-in was ordered after address books giving the names of the girls being called fell into the hands of the police.
Silent Coup claimed that this was of great concern to Dean because his lover’s name was listed under the code name “Clout,” a reference to her connection with Dean. The book said Dean ordered the second break-in to find out if the Democrats had any career-threatening dirt on him. One of the men who was caught, Rolando Martinez, an active CIA agent, was found to have a key to a desk where it was thought the dirt on Dean might be found. The key was found to fit the desk of DNC secretary Maxie Wells.
Colodny and Gettlin found support for the Silent Coup version of Watergate in contradictory things that Dean had written and said about this case. When he was deposed, Dean tried to explain some of these serious discrepancies with the claim that he did not write or even read his book, Blind Ambition. Nevertheless, the media have treated Dean as a respected figure and something of a hero. He was in prison only four months, compared to over four years for Gordon Liddy, who accused Dean of perjury and virtually dared him to sue. In 1992, Dean sued Colodny, Gettlin, their publisher and Liddy. Gettlin and the publisher settled two or three years ago. Colodny and Liddy did not.
Colodny’s attorneys asked for dismissal of the Dean Suit, submitting a four-thousand-page pleading. Colodny says his insurance company offered him a large sum if he would settle the case, but he wanted it to be heard. John Dean wanted to end it, and he accepted a substantial payment offered by Colodny’s insurer and withdrew his charges with prejudice.
On June 2, Dean withdrew most of his charges against Liddy and the judge dismissed the rest. Liddy declared total victory and repeated his charge that Dean is a liar. But he still faces a suit by Maxie Wells, the former DNC secretary, over his claim that she kept call-girl records in her desk and arranged dates for dignitaries. Her suit was dismissed by the district court, but it was recently reinstated by the court of appeals.

Got to cover up the 2000 mules story that makes Watergate look like someone broke a window.
Yes and yes about Dean and his prostitute gf/wife.
He only married her to keep her from having to testify against him.
I can’t believe that those two are still living high on the hog. Makes you believe that only the good die young.
“Gaslit” on HBO depicts the Deans as they were, a couple of grifter/hustlers almost as bad as Bill and Hillary.
The largest political scandal was the big steal of 2020..
Amateur. Now they use the media, the DNC, opposition research orgs, private attorneys... oh, and the FBI and the CIA.
