Critical elements of one of the most cited pieces of Alzheimer’s disease research in the last two decades may have been purposely manipulated, according to a report in Science.
But a neuroscientist in Tennessee, Vanderbilt University professor Matthew Schrag, said in a Science article that he and other reviewers have identified as many as 10 papers on the protein that deserve deeper scrutiny. The report also cited other prominent researchers who have had difficulty replicating results of the studies on the specific proteins.
“I focus on what we can see in the published images, and describe them as red flags, not final conclusions,” he told Science, when revealing his role as a whistleblower. “The data should speak for itself.”
His co-author on several papers is Dr Karen Ashe, also a University of Minnesota researcher and one of the most prominent Alzheimer’s researchers in the country. She described the potential manipulation of images as “devastating,” to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, but criticized the idea that her research into amyloid proteins singularly guided federal and drug company spending.
Finding a treatment for Alzheimer’s has eluded scientists for decades. Although there are drugs to treat the symptoms of early and middle stage Alzheimer’s, only one drug has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat the protein plaques associated with Alzheimer’s: aducanumab.

If it is like the terrible “science” around cholesterol, saturated fat, or sodium, there were countless additional studies that “confirmed” the “wrong.”
Idiot, cheating, lying scientists did those, too.

Luckily there is a treatment protocol that can reverse Alzheimer’s. Big Pharma hates it because it is not based on any expensive drug.

I know it can work for MCI and early stage Alzheimer’s. I am an Apoe4/4 genotype ( the Alzheimer’s gene) and I recovered from Mild cognitive impairment related to AD using the protocol. My short term memory score went from 24th percentile to 91st. If you catch it early there is hope.

Do u think animal fats are ok? how about table salt?
I listen to Doctor Radio on satellite and they say these two items are BAD. Over and over they repeat. But my relative who researches the Net a lot says they are safe.
I love table salt and I eat animal fat. My lipids are great. But my BP is high and am now on Rx. Started beet powder and BP going down.
Just curious of your OPINION on fat and salt.
I eat fats, but prefer non-animal fats, save for dairy and salmon, and, after having blood pressure that was too low, due to not adding salt, now am going through salt containers.
Studies show sodium should be between 2,800 mg to over 6,000 mg a day. Chronic low sodium can kill.
I wound up in the ER.
Let me add that getting your blood pressure down to a healthy level may be more immediately important than keeping sodium high, but you very likely have issues that have nothing to do with sodium causing your high blood pressure.
You probably have a fair amount of internal inflammation.
Take a look at information I provided in this thread to have ways to address vascular inflammation, which is a likely supporting cause if your problem. There are plenty if other potential triggers, too, though.
