The Russians hold this nuclear plant and a great deal of the surrounding area. The artillery targeting the plant is coming from the UKRAINIAN side.
Ask yourself why the Ukrainian forces are trying to cause a melt down - could it be they see no chance of regaining that territory so they are scorching the earth? Salting the earth with radioactivity for a few hundred years will mean the Russians won’t get to enjoy the spoils. Also would make further attacks via the contaminated area dangerous.
Could they want to cause the catastrophe and blame Russia, to open up a few hundred billion more in “relief” funds (a.k.a. money laundering for the Deep State)?
I have read that Russia’s goal is to disconnect this nuclear plant from Ukraine’s electrical grid and transfer it to Russian grids and use.
It was also reported that Ukraine was probably bombing the areas outside the plant where the Russians were attempting this changeover of electrical distribution lines. That makes more sense. Hopefully they are using pricision guided missiles that have a good reputation for guided accuracy.
