At ratings-winner WABC-TV in New York, for example, the channel offers 44 hours of newscasts per week. Most other stations in New York and Philly offer up about the same: Newscasts in the early morning, at noon, 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 11 p.m. That’s six to seven hours dedicated to the news, mostly local, per day.
And crime is front and center on residents’ television screens every day. Murders, shootings, assaults, smash-and-grabs, car jackings. And with cameras everywhere, whether it’s people filming on their smartphones or public webcams throughout a city, there’s more footage of such crimes than ever before. Beatings and robberies are captured and shared with viewers within hours. There’s never a premium on content. It’s seemingly Groundhog Day lately when it comes to murder scenes, interviews with families and neighbors of victims and crime stories in general.
But here’s where local news separates itself from most cable news programs: The absence of opinions from anchors or pundits.
Just watch your average local newscast regardless of where you live: The most basic tenets of journalism are most prevalent when presenting any story: who, what, when, where, why, how. Almost no point of view or loud talking head to push a narrative.
And it’s having a huge impact on the candidacies of Democrats such as Kathy Hochul, John Fetterman and Kate Brown.
Voters in New York, Pennsylvania and Oregon will make their voices heard on Nov. 8. Inflation and abortion and immigration and education will be big issues, of course. But crime may play the biggest role in deciding who wins many of these races. Local news will help shape the votes of those who are on the fence or otherwise would have stayed home.
That’s because, unlike most of the national media, local news is still a trusted brand mostly free of bloviating opinions and bias.

The local newscasts I’m seeing are all about pimping the democrat party
Out here in the Pugetopolis area the locals are just as bad as the networks, maybe worse because they are in the completely in the tank for the dims. One station, actually one of the oldest in the area, KING 5 NEWS is called WOKE 5 NEWS by the locals.
Because they ignore reporting on crime, drug vagrants, highest gas tax in America and did I mention crime, makes it obvious the stations are part of the problem. The Homeland Security Agents busted 3 illegals a week or so ago with 10 kilo’s, (22 pounds), of Fentanyl pills. One of the illegals had been deported a month earlier. Even the local spinmeisters have a hard time with reporting the news because all of it is devastating to their one party government that many stories go unreported. Reason 1005 why I refuse to watch ANY broadcast news, Hell, in the past 15 years the only TV show I made time to watch was the Bosch series. They spun off Bosch, he got fired or quit the LA Police Department and is now a private dick. I haven’t watched it, the wife said it was good, many original cast members came along.
SOUNDS like Memphis, never leave home without your carry piece. Laws in business like doctors be damned, just not state or fed territory.

In summary, without propaganda, democrats lose.
The narrative “election deniers” has been floated for a few weeks with there impossible belief they will win setting the stage for those possible wins In their eyes being legit and unquestionable

Local news in this area is pimping for:
—Democrats
—Big Pharma (get jabbed over and over again)
—The local military industrial complex (jobs, ya know)
—Universities (who in turn push leftism)
—Blacks (treated like they have royal blood)
—Illegal Immigrants (”migrants”—yeah right)
—”Climate Change”
—This is CT and the coverage on the Alex Jones trial was insanely one sided and was itself defamatory.
They are in the brainwashing business.
In California, they also push:
— The wonders of Marijuana
— The amazing joy of the Homosexual lifestyle.
— How Conservatives from other states continue to “hold back” the State, when they hold literally no state power.

Our local big city rag, “The Arizona Republic” has a CONSTANT front page drum beat of political stories.
There could be a tactical nuke dropped in eastern Europe, and the headline on page one would still be “The Perils of Polling”, or “Election Workers Alarmed by Armed Vote Drop Box Monitors”. It is the most pathetic excuse for a big city newspaper I have ever seen.
I’m sure like most Gannett generi-papers, they are well on their way to biz extinction.
It is not “devastating” unless there are suicides. At best/worst, liquor stores make a killing. See Pelosis.
Fortunately for Democrats about 25% of the people in the country are Evil and Stupid enough to vote for them.

Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years on FR. Namely, “about” 25% of American voters will vote LEFT every darn time no matter what the issue. Back in the revolutionary war, it was about 25% that loved the British resulting in more Americans being killed fighting each other than by the British Soldiers/Navy.
Bottom line is there is about 25% of the people breathing in the US that hate their country and always have going back 250 years. Almost exclusively, these low lifes vote Democratic.

I watch the local weather report, avoiding the politicalized, climate change weather channel.
I wish it weren't so.
This is how the Democrats also could not spin their way out of the things Obamacare was causing back in 2014 - because local news was covering it, not to mention most people either were affected or personally knew someone who was - so the Dem talking point that it was just GOP propaganda did not gain traction.
Apparently a lot of people as there is more of it than ever...with them just repeating the same content over and over.
