This sounds like state media spin. China loves US self-destruction.

China has plenty of spies in Tawain. Any kind of military technology sent there will pretty much become well known to China fairly quickly.

I still haven’t figured out this “hard-on” PRC has for Taiwan.
They are going to have to level it to take it. What good is it then?

The Communist Party of China cannot tolerate any Chinese entity that they do not control. It is that simple.

The existence a Chinese state with free, competitive, elections, with a government that is ultimately responsible to the voters is a slap in the face to the party’s justification and rationalization of thier rule over the mainland.

The same kind of hard-on the Russians have for Ukraine and the other former Soviet captive states. Countries, like people, sometimes get stupid ideas and no amount persuasion or reality smacking them up the side of the head will change their mind.

China has plenty of spies in the US so they would know any military tech secrets long before Taiwan gets their hands on it.

That said, I imagine that Taiwan would have more spies in better positions in China than anyone (and possibly everyone) else.

It’s like their Cuba. They don’t want a base for their enemies so close.

Presently China is in extreme turmoil and is unable to make a sustained assault on Taiwan

They have always needed an external enemy to keep the public's attention off of internal corruption. Just the way our government has been using Russia.

He is right. Most media folk have no understanding of military affairs.

Taking a well defended island is the hardest thing to do in war. The PRC military is still years away from being able to take Taiwan.

The ChiComs don’t have to TAKE Taiwan just isolate it with a tight blockade.

China lacks blockade wherewithal

Conversely, the wherewithal in to block China ports is present in the form of several navies

PLAN-N could blockade Tawian. No one will try to break the blockade.
