Lawsuit Forces Los Angeles County To Remove 1.2 Million Ineligible Voters From Rolls
The Federalist ^ | FEBRUARY 27, 2023 | VICTORIA MARSHALL

Los Angeles County, California confirmed it had removed 1.2 million ineligible voters from its rolls thanks to a settlement with the conservative advocacy group Judicial Watch, the group announced Friday. Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit in 2017 on behalf of itself and four registered voters in Los Angeles County. Election Integrity Project California, Inc., another public interest group, was also a part of the lawsuit.

Under the agreement, Los Angeles had to send 1.6 million address confirmation notices to voters listed “inactive” on its voter rolls. According to the National Voter Registration Act — which requires states to maintain accurate voter rolls — states and counties must remove from their voting rolls voters who do not respond to such mailers and do not vote in the next two federal elections.

In its most recent progress report for complying with the settlement, Los Angeles told Judicial Watch it had removed a total of 1.2 million ineligible voters from its rolls. Last year, the county revealed that 634,000 of its inactive voters hadn’t voted in the past 10 years.

"A start, but not good enough."

Exactly right. "...states and counties must remove from their voting rolls voters who do not respond to such mailers and do not vote in the next two federal elections."

For crying out loud, that is EIGHT YEARS!

The very simple solution is to wipe out the voter rolls completely after EVERY quadrennial presidential election and make EVERYBODY re-register. You would have to re-register in person with valid ID (birth certificate and passport would be best since driver licenses are corrupted), show proof of residency, and proof of citizenship.

I don’t know why Cauliphonya even bothers wasting all that money on “elections”.

Even after 5 years where I live, I’m still getting registration cards from past residents. I’m in Texas, so we don’t mass-mail ballots, like the Blue States are somehow allowed to do.

BUT IF I did live in a Blue State, and got ballots for people who don’t live here, and didn’t have much to lose, I would be VERY TEMPTED to fill them out and send them in - and the Dems would make sure that signature checking and other security measures (like partial SS numbers, or DL number) is not allowed - so it would be quite easy to pull it off.

The lawsuit was in 2017 - so 6 yrs. before any results - sadly.

It doesn’t matter in CA this state will go blue no matter what the democrats put up as their candidate. Now if they said they were cleaning up the voter rolls in Phoenix, Los Vegas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Detroit. Then it would make a difference.

Six years of litigation to get them to mail confirmation notices to inactive voters!

1.2 million ineligible voters removed from the rolls?

The real number is probably two times that.

Especially if someone was offering you money for them.

There are two Republican Congressional Districts in (or near) Orange County.

Those seats flipped to Democrat for several elections in the recent past.

Judicial Watch won a voter check lawsuit in Orange County a few years ago, and both of those CDs flipped back to the GOP in 2022.

Federal Congressional elections are held every two years. Your point is still valid.

That’s why I proposed re-registering after every quadrennial presidential election.

So…..
The database says that in 2020, there were 5.8 million registered voters in LA County.

Most elections, 50-70% turnout. You would expect 2.9 to 4.2 million voters.

1.4 million voters would be half to 1/3 normal expected turnout. 33-50% of voters could have been fraudulent.

However, rest assured there isn’t any voter fraud……..

I’d want to see proof, I wouldn’t just take their word that they removed them.

No, no, this cannot happen! These fake names is where the DNC gets the mailin ballots. This is how Newsome dodged the recall — ballots printed out and handed to ...... handlers.

Does the Fed Govmnt pay a stipend to every county to help run the elections???

IF so-—say it is $5/name on the rolls.

This would represent $6 MILLION in free money to the county.

There are 3144 counties in the USA.
