You are right and it’s all that and the fricken snakes. But I’d take it politicalky over an illannoy or some other blue state,
It was a joke that made the rounds about Gov. Bill Clinton’s Arkansas, which was said to be 49th in everything.
I really like MS. We’ve taken these massive road trips over the years covering most of the continental US. We took a little convertible and would drive where ever the wind blew us. We both feel the most free in Mississippi. We have some little anecdotal things like just pulling onto the beach to eat something, one can’t do that on most of the US coastline. In general, minimal LEO, minimal postings, warnings, EPA ad infinitum. We also went to some wild places-one was called something like Yo Momma’s Basement? This place and others like it would never be licensed in 48 states.
Bottomline, it is so free in Mississippi that it is hard not to feel it.
Just spent two weeks in Mississippi visiting kids and grandkids. We went to a place called The Shed that served a BBQ that I have always thought others should taste like. Number one in that category.
“I’ve lived in Mississippi. I’d live there a thousand times before any shithole “blue” state.”
I have never lived there but have been there several times. The scenery is beautiful and the people are very nice. I would choose Mississippi over any blue state craphole. My current state of residence (New Mexico) is currently #49 in everything and is rapidly degenerating into a 3rd world craphole. Maybe a move to Mississippi is in the future.
“ And isn’t California now at the bottom of a lot of those lists? ”
Yes
Never heard of Electrek, however if their writing of all their articles is this bad, then I won’t read it if it came free.
Mississippi is behind because of 112 years of democrat party control. Republicans have controlled the state for about 11 years. Takes a while to fix the mess democrats create. There is also the huge dependent demographic and influx of illegals.
Me too, right on the beach at the Seashore Manor Retirement Home (now Seashore Oaks) in 1975 while in the USAF. They let Airmen and their wives stay there. The retired women adopted our young wives, and it was mutually beneficial.
You sound like an electrical engineer who really understands the situation & the drawbacks of the EVs. I see very little reason to ever own one. Doing just fine with what I got & probably with a lot less total expense than with an EV. Purchase price & maintenance would mean everything to me & it is way more than I could possibly afford.
Keesler AFB tech school, ‘63-’64.😀
NM a fascinating, beautiful state. Horrible politics and lots of insane people.
Last place in anything liberal is GREAT.
Kalifornia is 1st place in all thing liberal.
