Well, this electrical engineer loves the idea of electric cars. However, given the totally inadequate and reliable generating capability (minus reliable energy such as nuclear, gas, and petrol), grid capacity, total inadequacy in battery production/endurance/recycling, car costs, not even starting to get our charging infrastructure constructed, lost resale value (when the battery goes, the rest of the car is worthless), and more, ...well...I’ll continue to take a “by”, not “buy” on the electric toys.

You sound like an electrical engineer who really understands the situation & the drawbacks of the EVs. I see very little reason to ever own one. Doing just fine with what I got & probably with a lot less total expense than with an EV. Purchase price & maintenance would mean everything to me & it is way more than I could possibly afford.
