A new innovative COVID-19 vaccine developed by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as other local universities could act against current and future variants.
Researchers used an artificial intelligence system to sort through “a vast number” of compounds to identify 30 that would work well against COVID-19, according to lead author David Gifford, in a report published last week in the peer-reviewed journal Frontiers in Immunology.
Gifford, a professor at MIT teaching computer science and biological engineering, spoke to The Boston Globe about his work.
Scientists at Boston University, Tufts University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Texas collaborated with MIT on the new vaccine, according to the Globe.
In tests done on mice infected with COVID-19, all mice given the new vaccine survived, while 80 percent of mice not given the vaccine died, according to Gifford.
This vaccine differs from the others currently on the market due to the portion of the virus being targeted, according to the Globe. Moderna’s and Pfizer’s vaccines teach the human body to recognize and fight off the spike protein cells found on the virus. As the virus evolves, these can change.
However, this new vaccine produced by the Canadian company Acuitas Therapeutics targets a different area of the virus, less prone to change or variants, according to the Globe.

They have put us in a dangerous place. If a real pandemic happens with a real vaccine comes one trusts anything now. Millions could die because they used this to steal Trump’s second term.

The sad thing is that the FedGov pushed an experimental and unproven “vaccine” on the public. Now we know it was no such thing, and furthermore we now have good reason to believe it was not safe at all.
As a result, (IMHO) most people who were not anti vaxers before COVID are anti vaxers now. So even if and when effective, tested and safe vaccines are developed, for whatever contagion, a majority of people are not going to trust them or use them.

It’s not a bad case for everyone. Some it definitely does considerable harm. So, why not allow someone to have access to something that costs about .05 to make and let them make their own decisions

Ivermecin and the hydroxcloriquin protocol already work and are really safe, effective and don’t need to be reformulated for each new strain. Their biggest drawback is that they are cheap and trillions of dollars can’t be made off of them.

The people I can’t stand were the ones pushing it and saying that those that weren’t believing the BS and staying away, were risking the lives of everyone.
I think once they normalized “surviving covid”, things went to a different level.
Folks don’t “survive” the flu, just like they don’t “survive” a cold.
They get over them.
They couldn’t see the simple math….over 99.6% get over it, most without any medical intervention or realizing they even had it.
The wrong treatments, which they knew were wrong, and some pre-existing conditions were what killed everyone.
