The state Assembly on Monday voted 52-19 to approve the proposal, which would create a watchdog agency at the California Energy Commission, or CEC, that could compel oil companies to provide information about the industry and possibly set a profit cap and a penalty for those that exceed it.

Maybe it's time for the remaining refineries in California to just SHUT DOWN and dismantle their facilities and move to America to avoid this crap.

Every Oil Company should exit California and not market any products there, including polycarbonates and tires.

Jay Inslee passed an emergency law in WA that automatically makes any law passed by The CA legislature, the law in WA, also. That would mean that the WA refineries would be under the same rules. Most of the gasoline and dieselairplanefuelfor seven western states is produced in WA.

Great. Gas here in California is already back up at $5.00/gallon - or more.

I see gas prices soaring again - as the idiot governor seeks to ban all gasoline powered engines - diesel trucks too.

Yet, despite mass vote fraud, there are still a lot of voter here who continue to vote for policies like this.

A few years ago, the voters here voted to keep the last gas tax even though we had a chance to get rid of it.

The problem is, you have to combine the second and third biggest states to compare the number of automobiles in California. Oil companies can’t ignore the state, but the rest of the country pays the price for California’s war on oil.

U like PGE, the state doesn’t own oil companies and cannot dictate profit.

California gets 50% of its power from natural gas. Oil and gas companies should refuse to sell their products in California.

There is precedent.

"Barrett cannot legally sell any of its products to lawbreakers," said Mr. Barrett in his letter. "Therefore, since California’s passing of AB 50, the state is not in compliance with the US Constitution’s 2nd and 14th Amendments, and we will not sell nor service any of our products to any Government agency of the State of California."

Ronnie Barrett, CEO

The refineries should not make gas for sale in California or Washington.

Five of the largest west coast refineries are in WA. They make most of the gasoline and airplane fuel for seven western states and they make it all to CA standards. Two of them are in Whatcom County where I live.

OMgosh. Just OMgosh.

It’s a whole lot bigger than the Oil Industry, folks.

If (given CA’s judges, it’s likely) it’s held legal for the Oil Industry to be targeted, then ALL industries and employment venues are easily targeted.

Too much money in your profits, Landlord? You’re next.
Too much money in your profits, Dairy industry (think eggs)? You’re next.
Too much money in your profits, Meat industry? You’re next.
Too much money in your entertainment (Lefties targeting Conservative Sites)? You’re next.

It’s mind numbing.

And given our current legal structure of Marxists and Cowards, only too possible.
